What's your age, and the oldest or youngest you'd date?

Does the age difference itself matter, or does it matter more what two ages the people are?

I'm 18 and the oldest I'd date is 24. Though I'd be worried that if we got along well enough to date while I'm 18 that my interests and level of maturity would change far more than theirs and we wouldn't get along when I was around 24, and he 30 . It's always been a fantasy of mine to top someone a few years older than myself though.

Youngest I'd date would be someone right on the cusp of 18, because I don't want to catch a case. Though if it were legal I'd date someone who was 17.

As for what ages the two people are it seems that, that would matter more. I see nothing wrong with a 30 year old dating a 38 year old, but an 18 year old and a 10 year old would be pretty fucked up. Similarly a 80 year old with a 60 year old doesn't seem at all questionable, but a 19 year old with a 39 year old certainly does.

I'm 24 now but when I was 16 I was in a relationship with a 43 year old crazy cat lady.

She even named one of her cats after me.

Briefly dated a 16 y/o last year at 23, never again. Though the problem isn't as much age itself, even though it's certainly intertwined with life experience, financial stability and not being an idiot in general. I find it hard to take anyone below the age of 20 seriously, even in non romantic/sexual relations. Oldest I'd go is probably a decade older than myself, age disparity obviously matters a lot less the older you get.

I'm 23. I'd date as young as 19 but would prefer someone my age or older since I'm very submissive. Max would be 40ish as long as they're reasonably fit and good to me. I might date older, again, if they're reasonably fit and good to me because I'm really weak and vulnerable to compliments/flirting and I like guys that would try to maybe guide me a little or who know more about the world in general than me. Usually I attract people that only want hookups probably because I'm trap material and embrace it happily I'm really into manly guys though, I don't wanna say daddy types or whatever because of the stigma, but yeah… Age is not the factor I'm concerned about but fitness/health and personality. They mean way more because I don't wanna be treated like dogshit or a disposable bang toy by anyone no matter how old or hot and I don't want someone who doesn't take care of themselves because I put a lot of effort into staying pretty and fit myself. Maturity also obviously is a huge one. I'm a picky bitch I guess but I hold myself to the same standards and I try to stay open minded about people

24.

16, cuz it's the lowest legal here. Lowest I'd go if it were lower is 14, but they'd have to be pretty cool and not one of those 14-year-olds that looks 10.

But I don't really date. I can't afford to take anybody anywhere. I've gone back to living almost like I did when I was 16, so accordingly I'm not really equipped to drag anyone out of their bullshit when I've been dragged back in.

Oldest I'd date - I used to say like 90. Maybe it was 80. Anyway, I've decided I'm tired of that. The older men I used to date (mostly not that old), some of them are getting really fucking senile. One asked me if I remembered Nixon… and he'd just casually said "you're no spring chicken" only a few days prior, so I also know the guy's not above some kind of insulting shit but it doesn't make me feel any better knowing he could legitimately have forgotten when Nixon was president.

Plus, sex with guys who aren't that old tends to be easier. I'd set my upper limit for dating now around 50, probably… 50s. Depends on the guy at that point. But 30-48 or so is so much better, now.

21 here, 24 is probably my upper limit since that's the oldest person I've found attractive. Lower limit would probably be like 16-17 but they would have to be exceptionally mature to be bearable. Even 18 year olds don't know shit about life, 19 would be more reasonable.

Yeah. A few, really, in the 60s. 70s too, I guess. And, yeah, over the 50s.

At the time, they were good. Hard to say what it's like - there were feelings involved in almost all of my early relationships. One thing is that the relationship tends to be very kind of… well, they usually don't expect you to pay for stuff.

20. The lowest I'd consider is 17 since it's the age of consent for New York, the highest would probably be at most five years older than me. But, that's not a hard limit. Tastes change, and I think it really depends on the person, but I do think that age plays a somewhat significant part of whether or not I'd go out with or fuck a guy.

I'm 30 (though socially more like middle 20's, and I still get confused for someone either in his last year of high school or first year of college). I probably wouldn't date anyone under age 25 or so, because it gets to the point where we literally have nothing in common. I was raised with cousins who were more like brothers to me, and 5-10 years older than I am, so I was steeped in 80's culture and lifestyle. Even just a few years younger than I am, and I find people are fully "milennials", as in: they can't function without their precious electronic gadgets, can't think for themselves without a search engine or perform any mental arithmetic without a phone calculator, have the attention span of a gnat, think multitasking by watching TV shows and chatting online and doing work all at once is efficient, and have a friend's list a thousand people long. It's like they're aliens from another fucking planet, and their brains are all warped and bizarre.

Much as I hate to admit it, I would probably be more comfortable around someone 40 or 50. Likely wouldn't date them (wouldn't be any physical attraction), but the "generation gap" is smaller twenty years older than me than five years younger. I can always find something to talk about with someone that old because they, too, lived in a time when they had to think for themselves and entertain themselves and survive without a fucking miniature computer glued to their eyeballs 24/7. Don't get me wrong; I'm not a Luddite or some shit; I have a computer and I use it daily, but if the power goes out for a week I also know how to read books and shit. Take a 20-year-old's phone away, and I think they would literally go insane within a day.

Dating aside, were it legal, I'd have sex with just about any boy from age 10-ish to age 14-ish. From what I remember being that age, boys that young are a lot of fun because they're so sexually desperate, and because their desire for it is still pure. Any older, and you start to poison what should be an enjoyable experience with all those silly adult expectations of sex as the fulfillment of a complicated social contract.

Though, to be completely honest, sex aside, I've really only been on one proper "date", and that was like 13 years ago. I don't think it's really possible to date as a homosexual in this country. You can't really be "out" without risking your family and your job and your social network, and any meeting place for gays are just places for hookups and getting infected with exciting new combinations of STDs. I doubt there are many left my age that aren't already in a long-term relationship, or total sluts, or fucking nuts. For the record, I'm the latter.

Yes, that may very well be but they didn't try to connect emotionally or socially with people that young. There was a hierarchy to it and you wouldn't be hearing anyone say anything along the lines of "My 14 year old wife is pretty cool" in their mid twenties. You should be worrying about your state of mental maturity if you think you could connect well with a 14 year old.

They were fucking literal prepubescent children legally. How the fuck is that not worse than admitting that not every 14-year-old is dumb as shit?

>There was a hierarchy to it and you wouldn't be hearing anyone say anything along the lines of "My 14 year old wife is pretty cool" in their mid twenties.

Like, honestly. How is this not worse?

"Mental maturity" is mostly a sham. Maturity pretty much begins and ends at balls dropping, and even the additional brain development that continues to the mid 20s doesn't mean that much compared to experience. Most of the disconnect is really cultural, and it's a culture I'm not fond of - our society fills teens up with neurotic bullshit just so their parents can treat them like children for a little longer. Most of the time, yer high schoolers are acting within this context.

Also, I've noticed that most people who look back at their teenage years and go "wow, I was so stupid" haven't really gotten significantly less stupid. As a side note, you know.

How is it you respond to "on this board" with a statement about the general gay population? It wasn't that long ago at all that 8Ch still had CP, and this board contributed to the overall creepy ass reputation the entire site had before it cracked down. Cuteboys genuinely was a hebe/ephebophile-centric board before the change, and it's still centered around the same aesthetics without being as forward. Don't go pinning this on everybody else.

I'd fuck anyone who has hit puberty and they come onto me, though I think that's just wishful thinking and shota trap hentai talking.

Realistically, I wouldn't actually date anyone below the age of 20. Being able to socially drink together on a night out is important to me, and I'm also a developing craft beer snob (so is everyone in california).

Ceiling, I'd say 35, but same deal others say about me, it's all about how old you look not how old you are. Bad example: Dan from GameGrumps is 37 or 38, but the oldest i'd pin him is 33. Same time, asian doctor I know is like 30, looks in his 40s.

The age range at the lower end is mostly maturity and psychological stability. I figure if you've made it to 25 you've either made it past most of the psych issues you're going to have re: sexuality, or they're going to be very rapidly evident (as opposed to latent and only becoming apparent when some career/lifestyle/family hiccup occurs).

The upper end is mostly because of looks.

1) 24 with gay death merely 2 months away

2) Probably…27? I don't like dating much older than me.

3) 18, hugely into twinks and cuteboys, plus I like a counterbalance for my (perceived) excessive maturity in a partner that loves vidya and animoo

4) I don't think the age matters as much as the more malleable criteria such as physical attraction, interest in interests outside of your own (do you need a partner that largely likes what you do or are you interested to learn about your partners interests), mental age, etc. Basically the desired traits in your partner.

I'm 26, dated a 20 year old briefly and he was significantly less mature than me which caused some problems. There was also a noticeable gap whenever I talked about things that I liked when I was younger. It wasn't really a problem, just strange. I think I might have trouble finding common ground if it was a much bigger gap though. Hmm. No matter how old I get I would probably always date someone in their mid 20s at least.

So youngest, I'd date an 18 year old but there might be some issues and I don't know how well it would work in practice. I'd be willing to at least give them a chance.

I've never actually dated anyone older than me so I don't know about that. I'd probably feel self conscious about not being as far along in life in terms of like… career, finances, property etc. Especially if I was having trouble and struggling financially, like if my shitty old used car broke down and I couldn't afford the $400 to fix it, but he's driving a $50,000 luxury car with $15k in savings.

Oldest, I'd date up to 30 or the early 30s no problem. After that I'm not sure. He'd probably have to be the one pursuing me and be pretty persistent about it.

Strangely, older more mature & experienced guys are totally my dream type. Come to think of it I saw someone in his late 30s for a few weeks, a really dominant guy that reallllly knew how to push my buttons. Super dominant and sadistic, but then after he'd be super nice and caring, it was like a perfect one-two punch. Just about enough to make me fall for him. I'd take another one like that in a heartbeat.

I'm 25. I'd go as young as 20 and as old as 35. Any younger and they might not be mature enough for me and and older I might be to young for them. This rule could be broken if I had a really special connection to the person. As long as they're legal.

That's when you're no longer young and attractive enough to be able to get sex/dates, so you might as well commit suicide if you're not already in a long-term relationship, because you will be alone forever.

Or at least it's what the "community" half-jokingly claims. In reality, it depends on the person and what kind of relationship they're looking for. If you have favorable genetics and a healthy lifestyle, you can look young enough to run around with college kids well into your 30s. If you're looking for more than just fucking, it doesn't matter how old you are (relatively speaking).

i just turned 25 ;_; and a i usually picture a relationship as being with someone older than myself but when it comes right down to it, i don't feel like my maturity level has really changed since 20; i've just become sadder. once you become a working adult, age doesn't feel very relevant until you start to lose your health. i think i could date as low as 20-1 if they were mature enough and we actually made an effort to relate to eachother. idk what my limit on the other margin would bebecause the last guy i was seeing turned out to be significantly older than he said he was

I'm 34, and my range over the last year has been 18-34 (AOC 16 here). These have variously been hook-ups, dates and threesomes with couples; some ongoing.

I have to say that I don't really get the comments about age-gap difficulties. I get on really well with some of these boys who are practically half my age. I've lived through what they're experiencing now, and have had time to reflect on it, and they tend to appreciate my advice. There can be odd moments - realising they have no memory of 9/11 for instance, which happened when I was already 18 - but these tend to be fleeting.

What I do find awkward is the reactions of others, or expectation thereof. One boy always worries about his parents finding out about our hookups, and reasonably so since they're nearer my age than I am to his. He's entirely justified in doing so, but it does feel a bit 90s. Another got me into a slightly embarrassing position on a date when he was assumed to be my son - I might avoid dates on Father's day in the future.

For me, Age is irrelevant with teh exception of the law…

So 16, and in France, 15.

As for how old… well it depends how rich they are. Honestly, if I could be a gold digger I would.

Besides gold-digging, appearance is most important to me. I like to suck off Aryan boys who have red/blonde hair and blue eyes.

Not a cb but have always been a fan.

As with anything else, age difference matters less and less as you get older.

The age gap is seen differently if you're just hanging out and watching movies or listening to current top 40.

I have dated/seen/had a relationship with cbs as young as 22.

But, I may be the exception. My taste in music and amusement is different than most;

I'm into Assassins Creed, COD and excel at Guitar Hero/Rock Band.

I was raised on Star Wars and still am in love with the characters and stories.

I'm probably the closest thing to Peter Pan as they come.

However, since I also have a high IQ, am college educated and work in a professional capacity, very few people see this side.

Much like CBs who hide their true side.

On the positive side, age usually means you can better understand your partner.

There are as many downsides to being close to the same age.

Where 5 years is a huge gap for a 20 year old, 10 years is nothing when you're 40.

What you have to decide is what you truly want from a relationship.

Whether you want to be a full partner, a fuckboi or just a plaything.

It's really up to you.

Once you decide what you really want, age makes much less difference.

My take on this: age ain't nothing but number. A lot of guys I hang with who are from the 1940 -1980 era (Baby Boomers/Generation X) while fun, can be/are snooty arrogant and bullyish, talk down teens for not knowing a certain quote/song/movie/TV show from 20+ years ago, yet they themselves cannot remember someone's name for more than five minutes, guzzle/get loud, etc. Than there are those from the 1980-2000 era, while awkward, are humble and quiet. They like old school but are not patronizing about it.

Hell, if society was like BL, I'd have a cute seventh-grader for a BF. We'd go on picnics, karaoke, watch YouTube Poops, debate politics, cuddle, etc.

Remember, adolescence was a social-legal thing made up in the 1940s for suburbia life and education investment. I think it's now outlived its purpose, seeing as kids are raised by single moms, are reading up on conservative politicians, make dark, edgy fanfics, like more mature literature, and are overall cynical.

Maturity is a funny thing. See, as long as you have a job and a car and live on your own, you're considered by society to be "mature", even if you're an emotional cripple and still play with children's toys. Thing is, really, only teenagers give the tiniest flying fuck about appearing "adult"; real adults don't care if they watch Disney movies and everyone knows it. Being concerned with appearances is the true sign of immaturity.

My reference to used goods might be a little more clear to you if you knew my actual age: 31. Every fag this age is either a forever-alone virgin wizard (or close enough), a complete slut infected with most STDs known to man and who will never change, or has already found a long-term relationship. That last group is also mostly bisexuals who decide they want a family and find a nice girl to settle down with.

There's just nothing left out here. That is why they call it "gay death".

The youngest I have dated was 10 years younger than me. She was 18 and I was 28. We started fucking and it was an on and off thing until a few years ago. I was 39 when I ended our random fuck buddy sessions. She was a girl that grew up around me. I refused to touch her before she was of the legal age, which is 16, but I made her wait until she was 18. My take on this is: humans don't see their young as people. They see them as expendable sex dolls or workhorses. God forbid should a new generation of high schoolers drop out of school and start tinkering with cybernetics and start a new tech format or currency that dominates the world.

Truth is, adults are afraid of OBSOLENCE. Whenever a child is better at a job/game/trade his/her elder counterparts, the elders get twitchy. Adults like to talk about "Being yourself" , but notice when teens and 20-somethings are themselves, the elders call them "lazy","immature", etc. But whenever you have a kid exposes their parent lying, the kids get his ass whooped/patronized for "disrespect."

When an adult corrects a child, it's discipline. When a child corrects an adult it's "disrespect." Adults make up morals and rules to control their young, not to make the world more bearable. ADULTS ARE OVERGROWN CHILDREN. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Another thing I notice: Adults who say "I hate kids" are ironically very snarky, trashy people who are very needy or are insecure. Not unlike the over-represented stereotypical kind of "adolescent."

Truth is, those who want younger partners want a partner who is a puppy dog: Cannot see/overlook their elders flaws, are shy, and is happy-go-lucky.

Under the Criminal Code of Canada, anyone under the age of 16 cannot legally consent to any form of sexual activity, from kissing to intercourse. It means that adults are criminally liable if they have sex with someone under that age. The offense carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.

The law has a "close-in-age" exemption of less than five years, which permits teens to engage in consensual sex with a partner who is less than five years older, as long as the older partner is not in a position of trust or authority and the relationship is not exploitive.

The age of protection for exploitive sexual activity, such as sexual activity involving prostitution, pornography, or a relationship of trust, is 18. The age of consent for anal sex is also 18.

It seems cute boys is disgusted with younger people being in intimate or serious relationships bc "muh immaturity " or "muh innocence".

As someone who is now 20, I've hung around older men all the time. All I can say is wow. Women are right: Men don't grow up at all.

These guys who're in their 30s and 40s act like their age is a badge of honor. Yet, they still spazz out and dress like high school jocks. Alot of them are bums with kids out of wedlock. They use the same media products as the youngsters do yet they scoff at young people having their own subcultures.

The Internet culture in general has always been run by 20/30/40-something men who take themselves way too seriously. From the chains to reddit to YouTube to memes. Any fandom that goes full retard is usually manchildren obsessed over "purity" while bullying younger patrons for liking different adaptations.

I don't really think age matters in a relationship. It's more about your relative maturity, shared interests, common experiences, and everything else that would endear you to someone, even as a friend. As >>412896 said, men don't really grow up, for better or worse.

I'm 30, and have been in a loving relationship with someone 8 years younger for a few years (I met him here incidentally). It's pretty great, we get along really well and live together in a house we own. I've dated older guys in the past, and that was fine too. Older guys are kind of hot in their own way.

I guess I don't really understand the taboo in dating someone of a different age. I feel like it's based off media stereotypes of older men being lecherous and younger men being naive, which are false.

>I feel like it's based off media stereotypes of older men being lecherous and younger men being naive, which are false.

Of course. Most cases of statutory rape are teen girls who didn't get their way so they turn on the older guy. Or said teen girl was in a mutual relationship with older guy but got caught.

But beyond that, I think the discrimination against younger people because "muh pop culture aesthetics". All complaints about "muh zoomers" (2016 - present) or "muh millennials"(pre-2015) all has to do with adults feeling awkward about new music, new shows, new anything.

But even worse than that, is the romanticism of childhood. Adults are very sentimental creatures, even more than children. They feel every age number under 25 is a "fragile special experience to be cherished."

It's why Anglo culture is all about "stranger danger" and "finding your passions." It all has to do with the emotional connotations of childhood.

People overestimate the value of age=maturity.

Peope in the modern world overestimate the "separate reality" of childhood.

Contrary to popular belief, kids aren't blind to race. And they develop interests in money, sex, and fashion.

Its just that adults nowadays more than ever are hell-bent on blocking kids off from the real world. Now people in their 20s are given the "oversized toddler" treatment that only teens gotten. Teens shouldn't even be treated like in the first place. Centuries ago, at 12-14, you were already an adult, helping out with your fathers trade. Now 14 year olds are considered "too young to cook".

But even worse is cognitive retardation in adults. Nobody over 25 knows what adulting is. They think being over 25 is a cosmic license to say fuck all to morality.

They just waste money on making themselves feel like a kid while hating chidren.

Nah. Most things nowadays are completely dull aesthetically. Even Internet culture isn't what it used to be, and that was one of the few highlights of the 2000s.

>Gen X fucked up big time with grunge/punk and excessive snark.

Punk and grunge were great as music. Unfortunately, the fans and musicians themselves have often been self-righteous assholes. I'd rather be around a fun, earthy hair metal guy than a tryhard leftist punk or a pretentious alt rock jerkoff.

Those also weren't the only things going on in rock, let alone the wider music world. Boomers and Gen Xers also popularized electronic music. Aphex Twin is an obvious example of that.

>If your problem is with PC culture than you overestimate the "live and let live" philsophy the boomers boast about supposedly having.

>How is everything dull nowadays compared to back then?

Everything is bland and ugly compared to the decades of the past. Even the anodyne Y2K look seems interesting now compared to the bland corporate-hipster McMinimalism and obese, twerking "POCs" that plagued the 2010s.

Pop culture in general nowadays is worthless dreck. Godawful hip-hop music has supplanted genres like rock in the popular consciousness, Hollywood can no longer create movies worth watching to save their lives, TV isn't worth watching now, and so on. There's a reason so many companies are trying to capitalize on the names of properties from decades ago.

>Of anything things gotten more flamboyant and diverse.

There's more stuff being released now than ever, but the barrier to entry is also much lower. The Internet used to have a lot of interesting niche communities, but now a lot of those are being swallowed up by tech giants and forced to join the Borg or die out. Just look at what Reddit, Facebook, and Discord have done to traditional forums and online hobby communities.

>And how is punk or grunge great? A bunch of ruffians whining about "muh society" for the umpteenth time. All the songs are the same distortion sludge nonsense.

They were all about returning to the fundamentals of rock songwriting rather than focusing on how complex their song structures were or how fast they could solo just for their own sake.

>As for electronic music? It was rarely accepted in the mainstream. It was pioneered by Greatest/Silent Generation.

Guys like Raymond Scott and Bob Moog were pioneers, but it was largely considered novelty music until boomer musicians like Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre, Gary Numan, and Yellow Magic Orchestra came along. Disco was another big factor.

>Bitch please. Punk is just hip hop for white folks.

>Nothing but bland dirty noise. No grace, no experimentation at all.

Bullshit. Punk rock was a return to the energy and simplicity of rock and roll. Bands like the Ramones and the Misfits were drawing heavily from the music of the '50s and '60s, and it showed in their songwriting. Just about every new rock style going back to the late '70s was drawing on some form of punk, whether the style in question is post-punk or New Wave, gothic rock, alternative rock in general, or just about any metal subgenre from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal forward.

>And again, how is pop culture nowadays worthless compared to back then?

Where are all the great music, movies, or TV shows coming out now? Specifically in music there's a hell of a lot more of it coming out, but it tends to either be subpar or just inferior retreads of things that came before. The soulless digital aesthetic permeating everything isn't helping either. Some of the "synthwave" and vaporwave music is pretty enjoyable on its own merits, but that's about all I can think of from the past decade that I enjoyed.

>Everything back then was corny idealism.

Have you not seen anything from the New Hollywood movement or later? There have been plenty of movies like that before the Current Year. Even at the end of the Golden Age of Hollywood things started to get a bit edgier. Not everything has to be realistic either.

>As for corporations selling out to the Borg? That has always been a thing.

>No. Punk rock was built around the stereotypes of rock and roll. If you listened to punk and early rock, they sound nothing alike.

The influence of the '50s and pre-hippie '60s on punk rock was pretty hear to clear. The Ramones even used Eddie Cochran's "C'mon Everybody" riff in "Suzy is a Headbanger." Not only that, but they covered songs like "California Sun" and "Do You Want to Dance." Phil Spector's girl group songs were another big influence on their songwriting.

The Misfits were a similar case, although they focused more on the mid-century monster movie thing. Glenn Danzig was an Elvis fan who later ended up writing songs for Roy Orbison and Johnny Cash.

>If anything, prog ,folk and pop rock are much better

No way. Pop-oriented rock can be good though.

>Again. Punk rock is just distortion sudge with too much aggression and no sense of melody.
