I have no idea who decided to come up with this and why a purple sock with holes in it is somehow better than the previous.

You'd be hard pressed to find a female comic character from the big two that hasn't be butchered by SJW redesigns. Laura's is probably the least shit of the three but it's still bad. Why are exposed arms bad on a woman? Why would she take on the mantle of her clone daddy rather than live with her own identity?

As much as I didn't like the Batgirl redesign, or the push to de-age her for younger audiences and twitter niggers, I thought the next design was actually worse. The tiny cape, the Party City headband bat ears, and the odd training bra bat symbol makes it look really odd.

This is a new one, from the upcoming Spider-Woman. I'm glad she's back in a superhero outfit–I'm really tired of the Project Rooftop trend that took over.
But her new outfit's pretty boring. Having a black suit with a colorful upper half on it is what both Miles and Silk and Spider-Girl and Spider-Gwen have. It's very lazy and forgettable.

best thing to do is try to get coronavirus now, before the death rush in hospital. best thing is for everyone to expose asap to build herd immunity. staying at home will worsen the problem and give the virus time to mutate to a more deadly version

Could be worse.
Let none of us forget Squirrel Girl.

In the case of Squirrel Girl, costume isn't the problem. Shitty art is what ruins it.

A superhero should not look like she shops at a thrift store.

Agreed. Literally every time any other Marvel artist gets a hold of the character, they make it look ten times better. The aviator jacket look's not a bad design, it's just destroyed be Erica Henderson's unacceptable artwork. Why they got rid of that to a all grey that looks even worse in her hands I'll never know.

The Averages Academy Lightspeed outfit looks like it came out of a shitty 90s series despite debuting in '2010. Then, somehow, she now has another outfit that's even worse.

Oh and, for reference, here's her original outfit with modern art and old art. It still holds up.

The only way I thought that could be justified was if this was supposed to be a younger Barbara Gordon that was just starting out. So that would explain why her outfit looks home made and bright. Sadly that was not the case.
>Spider Woman
For some reason I hated this the most. The outfit is basically ripping off the Batgirl one which already sucked. That and the whole quirky hipster bullshit in that comic got old real fast and was lame.

I still wonder if in the mentioned style, its supposed to look like she has down syndrome, to target a retarded audience.

She's a superhero working under/with the richest man in Gotham. There's no reason she would be running around like she walked out of a thrift store.

Yeah I actually thought the comic tells her story from the beginning, that would have made sense.

That would make sense if it's her starting out. Sadly, the comic shows her as having some falling out with Batman and her old costume catching on fire or something so she has to make a new one.

I never understood why she has those holes on her hips. It would leave her vulnerable. Aren't these redesigns supposed to be "practical"?

I couldn't tell who that was until I saw the picture name. It's weird you'd think the pseudo 80's look would work for Dazzler yet for some reason here it doesn't.

These redesigns remind me of Project Rooftop. Where it's supposed to be "realistic" but in reality the designs would hinder the heroes. That and the heroes aren't supposed to be realistic to begin with.

Out of all the comic book characters to use with Pink I always thought it would've been Black Canary. Then again it's mainly because of that one time she performed in a black leotard and fishnets that made her look like Black Canary.
