Yes, Jon was kinda annoying at times, but Dan is doing nothing but talk about himself and his dick, and they make jokes about being faggots all the time, and whatever Dan says doesn't even sound funny or ironic, especially since he admitted early on that he's a depressed, drug addict loser.
That was the downfall, and then I noticed Arin basically turned into what AVGN is today. He just sits next to a guy who talks a lot and says "Yeah" from time to time. He doesn't even use his voice talent at ANY time - you have a fucking talent, use it in a video.
Holy crap it's like utterly stupid losers who don't have a clue about business somehow managed to make cash by doing bullshit. They joined the ranks of the worst Youtube creators, made for people even too young to remember what Flash animations are.
And also, you'll notice that they got their fame mostly by others doing content for them, for free.

Well Jons videos look like they took months for a reason, too. Arin doesn't do anything. I don't really like the direction Jon went to, but he has a massive production value. Arin doesn't deserve more views than he gets.
And regarding Oney, I'm not a fan, but he has a funny voice, which he actually uses to his benefit unlike Arin, and his community makes waaaaay funnier shit than the Grumps community, but mostly because those guys are extremely funny.
