I think this board needs a collection of awesome comic covers, or full page art (it's basically the same thing, right?).

Age of Ultron has so many variants, its not even funny.
Behold, there will be so much Carnage next. Honestly, Carnage and Venom have some of the most awesome covers in history.

I don't know what's dumber. Batman being the result of some eldritch being influencing the multiverse or Superman being the center of the multiverse.

I've read everything about Barbatos and still can't wrap my head around him. He had zero relevance in the story he was supposed to be the villain in, too. He was basically just a setup.

It's more important to milk Batman Who Laughs anyway. Because he's marketable.

I actually like The Batman Who Laughs, but it's such a terrible character to write, because besides his backstory, nothing matters. He already got old after the main run.
The Dark Multiverse variations of stories like Knightfall, Death of Superman etc. were kinda cool, but The Batman Who Laughs spinoff was godawful. They even explained why he's wearing the strange visor, and it's just idiotic.
Whenever he appears in a comic, he tricks everyone like the Gary Stu he is, and can't be stopped or defeated, besides not having powers. He has both Joker and Batman plot armor. They won't let him lose any battle to return him in the next event, and that's the only thing I am interested in considering his character. I hope they just kill him off there.
And then put him into the next Injustice game, that would be nice.

What the fuck I just found out there is a 72 page comic based on the CGI Lion King movie. There's nothing more boring than 72 pages of realistically drawn animals who would usually just be in the backgrounds of other comics.

I think this all goes back to Scott Snyder. He has a lot of cool ideas. They just don't work when there stories demand no progression. Joker going all out batshit cutting off his face, torturing the entire batfamily, & all his crazy edgy nonsense in Endgame work for standalone stories when the writer has free reign. Not so much in a main line universe of "continuity" endlessly going. It's like this with all his ideas. Court of Owls, Barbatos, Batman Who Laughs, & even just super edgy Joker. They're ideas that can't be more than they are. Just pointless dark eye candy.

Yeah basically that. Snyder is basically doing his own continuous one shot, ignoring everything else.
See Last Knight on Earth for example, where Batman's clone machine causes trouble, which was introduced in Superheavy. Luckily, I only care for the Snyder stuff, so I have that condensed arc. But whenever I watch videos about other comics, the Snyder insanity is hard to put into what ever follows after it.
Regarding the Court of Owls though, they kinda have potential and keep appearing. It's just that noone wants to use them.

Last Knight on Earth is bizarre. I get what Snyder was going for. Mostly. Yet it sort of falls apart by referencing so much of past stuff in the mainline books despite being disconnected. Mostly Snyder works. He's a very strange writer that can't work with others. He only thinks in his own bubble.

Well you know the reason irl. The reason in the comic is really just prolonging his suffering.
Something something Lex mentioned trying to someone a Superman from another reality or something.

Isn't most of it a semi-reference to some of Millars insane work, like the one with nazi Wonder Woman?
Also, MCU Dr Strange should definately start with all the Lovecraft stuff, but the next villain sounds kinda boring already.

I don't recall Millar doing a Nazi Wonder Woman story. Unless you're thinking of Red Sun. That was communists though.
What's the next villain? All I remember from the Aaron run is the villain being some butthurt loser about magic existing.

So you seem to know some shit about Batman, because there are some things between New 52 and Rebirth which confuse me.
My question is, after Endgame, Bruce re-gained his memory and became Batman, setting everything back to the status quo. It's established that the Joker is also alive, but doesn't remember who he is either.
So is there a comic where Joker remembers who he is, throws his life away and becomes Joker again? Because if not, that would be a lost opportunity for an interesting story.

Damn. A comic would be cool where he, like Batman, required a trauma to become Joker again. Where he lives a normal life (or at least tries, considering he considers suicide in Superheavy), but haunted by memories of the Joker, or a manifestation of the Joker persona, but some event triggers his Joker-identity to return.
Like… I dunno… he gets beaten up by crooks with clown masks or whatever, and kills them.
It could have been potential for a different take on his backstory from Killing Joke.
Also: For this post I tried to solve 10 or more fucking captchas.

Well that's the problem when DC (& Marvel) have to produce comics weekly. A tight schedule along with incompetency & need to crossover characters means meaningful exploratory stories can't happen.

I disagree, because if they have time to make all kinds of Dark Multiverse spinoffs, there would have been time to make a "Joker regains his memory" one-shot.

>Joker trying to live a normal life but has to become Joker again.
That reminds me of a comic I read some years ago. I think we even storytimed it on here. Basically, there's a story where Joker lures Batman into a trap and thinks he has killed him so he turns into a normal guy and gets a girlfriend. But he sees the news about batman missing and his memories keep haunting so he has to revert back to Joker. Batman recovers and returns to fight the Joker. I think it was made in the 90's but it was an interesting story.
