How bad has the animation industry really gotten? You'd think when a site like cartoonbrew publishes an article about how some newly hired Disney employee decided to leave the most corporate company on earth, it would be ignored and laughed at (its fucking disney what did she expect?). Then you have mountains of vitriolic idiots descend from out of nowhere and sperg out over something so dumb. Later major people in the industry felt the need to come out and make a statement/video on the subject.

It reminds me of a video by some ecelecb called EZ PZ, where he interviews someone supposedly blacklisted in the industry for having the "wrong views". It also got dogpiled by a similar legion of idiots spewing the same shit and that was back two years ago.

Not going to embed the video to avoid shilling and I want to post images instead.

Honestly the only way to avoid giving people a real click is by webming everything.

Any sort of animation/VFX company will likely be fucked due to how (((Hollywood))) relies on getting more animation for less shekels. Whether it's outsourced or not, producing animation is focused on obtaining as much dough as possible while wrangling with paying cattle. Any questionable ideas will be an obstacle to this goal; marketing towards progressive families is no coincidence, as it''s currently profitable almost worldwide. The best solution that I could think of is to support smaller, independent works through whatever means, or perhaps make a company yourself. The technology is getting cheaper; only teamwork and willpower is what's needed.

Hooktube has been a literal direct link to Youtube since the dumbfuck creator of it tried to gain ad money, which made Youtube upset and threaten legal action. Use Invidious.

You posted this exact same thread in another Ib and everybody told you to fuck off, what makes you think here would be any different?

Also, the dude just bitch about something common in any other job. It's not a surprise the industry is filled with useless cunts but that's not unique in the animation industry. Just pay attention to the actually worthy animation projecs or at least, stuff that you like.

I don't need to be a animator to see how the modern western animation industry suck ass. It's pretty much what the storyboard artist descriptive, she is right. Just look at the old and new stuff and see how degrade became.

All entertainment industries have this kind of problem. I've heard similar things from my friends in the video game industry, especially in the indie scene. They're all bad but I think cartoons and comics have it worse. You've got a clique of gatekeepers that are hiring their friends and keeping the actually talented people out. Bullheaded leaders who think their shit don't stink and drive everyone in the wrong direction because of their ideology or pride. Not being able to take criticism to make changes when something doesn't work or sell. By any measure, it's a recipe for disaster and it's showing its results.

If you have a passion for something, whether it be books, games, or any other medium you're interested in, and you want to make something for it, your best bet is to do it on your own. The current ones at the top now aren't interested in you and will likely destroy you if you get out of line. You have to build up your brand and make them want to come and work for you because they won't treat you as an equal otherwise. I can't say for certain but I think there is a indie boom on the rise as the dominant players are crumbling or are beginning to collapse. Don't expect immediate success and expect a lot of failures along the way. You'll eventually get there if you try hard enough. The only other problem you might have to worry about is payment processors cutting you out since that has also been targeted by the anti-competitors.

It's been shit for a long time. Don't know if anyone has seen it, but Sting's wife documented the process behind Emperor's New Groove and it is fascinating. Disney, one of the biggest animation companies, was terrible 20 years ago and a friend of mine tells me it has only gotten worse.

I can see if I can dig up the conversation I had with him, if anyone is interested.

It's happening with every entertainment industry in the USA, when 5 megacorps own most media and regularly cooperate with each other, this is what happens.

Diversity/gender hires and quotas are not helping this either.

Then theres's the fact that nearly every single product comes from the same California Cabal.

It's only been getting worse over the years.
