So a new chink film called "Nezha" is breaking records over in China, besides Lucky and Pie whatever happened to those guys I dont recall any notable films coming from China. The only ones that do come to mind are those cgi Monkey King movies, Batman Shanghai and whatever bargain bin trash they vomit onto Walmart.

I understand exactly why they would copy the style, but I'm so disappointed they just went with the generic Illumination/Lazy Pixar/Dreamworks CG look. With how much technology has advanced, I just want somebody to fucking try out a distinctive style. I'm tired of everybody looking like textured plastic or clay.

I mean they're Chinese copying is what they do. I dont mind the style if it looks nice and is easy for them to manipulate especially when they've been increasing their production values over the course of a couple years.

I actually ended up watching the movie a days ago dubbed. I didn't want to but there was no other options. Until the very next day after I watched it. Suddenly there were actual blu-ray subbed options.
I can't say much about the film. Fight scenes are cool. Story is fine but obviously only can be fully understood by someone who knows chinese mythology. It's definitely made more for kids. Ne Zha & Ao Bing are pretty likable characters in situations that aren't their fault. It was a fine movie over all I guess. Wasn't as beautiful as White Snake though.
