Nice to see Pixar returning to doing something new and not just sequels.

Why can't we have an actual fantasy animated movie without it being a comedy or being made by japs (who add their own flavour of gay to it)

Looks like something Dreamworks would make. Honestly, I stopped giving a fuck about Pixar ages ago. And their last movie Coco just felt like a shitty version of Book of Life which was infinitely better.

Because westerners hate good D&D-style fantasy in fiction unless its super dark crap, because they can't worldbuild, and japs can't knock it off with the fetishistic streak for 10 minutes.

Gigantic was a boring ass concept.
All I want is more animals. To remind me of times when Disney was still drawing shit. Why waste the gift of animation and art on humans?!
I just don't care about long eared blue people. The movie might be fine, I'll probably watch this some day, but it will, like always, some emotional scenes with throwaway characters. Less Coco, Tangled, Frozen and this garbage.
More animals, creatures, and beautiful settings please.

It would've been a good concept if it had been a romance instead of another shitty film about a little girl (in this case a giant) proving that she's as good as the men and better than a tiny human adult. I mean think of it. Romance between human and giant only for a tragic breakup near the end over their different worlds. Some say it was going to be a romance but there's no way that would happen. The main female mc was a female giant of 8 years and main male was some 20 year old dude. Seriously, all they had to do was make it a serious romance and new Disney could've had their own 21st century Beauty and the Beast. Instead we got lousy crap that deserved to get cancelled and replaced with an awful Beauty and the Beast cgi adaptation.

Honestly, the idea of modern fantasy creatures going on a proper fantasy quest doesn't even sound bad. The design though are horrible and boring. They really didn't do anything creative with the world. It is just "current year but everyone is fantasy creature" instead of making a blend of proper magical and modern.

Well, I agree to the point you bring up, stop complaining about Last Jedi because you whined about Force Awakens being a rehash.
The mistakes aren't in the rehash or the trying something new, but HOW they did that shit.
Means, you can't complain about shit that literally doesn't have any footage. You can't find it shit because there is no information making it shit, you can only say you don't like blue faggot elves. I think Frozen and Tangled are stupid shit but that's probably just personal taste, because it's so harmless that those effectively do nothing wrong.

Centaur's Worries did a better job of actually exploring the idea of a soceity filled with humanoid monster species and how they'd interact, although it had a really bizarre subplot about the world actually being some kind of hyper-authoritarian dystopia. Usually when tumblr and other contemporary faggots take this angle, it's just a flimsy excuse to draw lots of silly shit on a page and make low effort jokes and sight gags.

Cartoon Brew article:
>Directed by Dan Scanlon and produced by Kori Rae (the same team behind 2013’s Monster University), Onward tells the story of two teen elf brothers “who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there.”
>“At Pixar we try to create stories that come from some kind of personal truth,” Scanlon previously explained in a press statement. “This film was inspired by my own relationship with my brother.”
>Speaking more extensively about the idea at the D23 Expo, Scanlon, who lost his father at a young age, said that the film was inspired by a question he’s always asked: Who was my father? He added: “In the film, we’re going to tell the story of two teenage elf brothers whose father died when they were too young to remember him. But thanks to the little magic still left in the world, the boys embark on a quest that will allow them a chance to spend one last magical day with their father.”
>The voice cast is lead by Chris Pratt and Tom Holland as the elves, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as their mom. Octavia Spencer has also been announced as part of the cast.
>Onward is slated for release on on March 6, 2020.

Thats the fucking dumbest example you could have pulled; and its not what anyone actually says about the shitshow of a current entry,
Also mortal kombat only has gore and sex appeal; they made one worse and removed one half.
The female designs are all garbage; from outfit to faces, i'd say its a much deserved reason outside of the obvious shit gameplay.
You do not make a sequel and suddenly change shit like this; its got the weight of its series and thus you be prepared to handle that weight and not ruin expectations to make your product sell.
If you want to sell something like "mortal kombat without sexy outfits(on woman only of course)", make it a different series you dumbfuck; or a spin-off.

Just watched the trailer for this shit. The jokes are really cheap. It feels like a large budget Gnomeo. The characters look stupid. The setting is bad. Their quest is kept in secret but is probably something stupid like going to a concert, a festival or searching for the legendary humans. Also, gay undertones, but only undertones, because f/f is no problem for Disney, but m/m? OH CRAP no, the Christian moms will notice!
