What's with the interest in bigfoot/yetis in animated films recently? Smallfoot,Missing Link, and now this.

I don't know. Is this a case of them copying each other or coincidence? Is it like the Antz vs A Bug's Life thing?

It's a really easy simple idea that's been done to death since films like ET popularized the "human kid and non-human creature wacky adventure" genre.

Is it ok to talk about Missing Link? I thought it was fairly standard but I have some sympathy for it because it's Laika studios and they're one of the few studios that actually do stop motion animation these days.

I was actually pretty interested in that
>Bigfoot wants to look for yetis because he's lonely
Simple solid storyline for a stop motion I figured, did you see it Anon?

Did you see pic related /co/ ?
I was not expecting some kinda deepest lore of yeti culture, I was wondering how they were going to fill out the whole "cryptid role reversal".
I didn't think they'd actually play on the theme of a search for objective truth like they did, it all fit together really well.
Danny Devito has an existential crisis due to a realization that isn't even the biggest revelation in the story has.

To be fair, there's not a lot of movies that have yetis as the main character or main plot element, just as a minor antagonist or threat. Its an untapped market for a new line of shit for kids and a well that the unoriginal jackasses at Hollywood have yet to tap and drain for all its worth.
