Wouldn't be hilarious if this whole thing ends by just having the Spectre showing up and vaporizing Dr. Manhattan.

Not gonna lie, all of these seem like they failed to load to me too despite being perfectly fine in the "add image" thumbnail of the reply-maker. I thought was just my compy shitting itself and it'd be better after a reset, but they still look broken – a good deal of the older ones in the thread too. Maybe Chodemonkey's shit breaks when a thread hits page 12. So much for "don't make a new thread when there's one on the catalog already".

I actually liked this issue, I think the scenes with Jon and the actor talking in the diner while continuity changes was actually well done and I am a sucker for Supes continuity so I dug it, also I really like how they incorporated my favourite scene from Secret Origins The best Superman Origin and it fits aesthetically too because it's also Gary Franks work
>>1064490
I think this is actually one of the funniest things and saddest because people actually think like this and Johns is used to using characters to call out fans and he is absolutely doing it again. This entire series is going to be a giant middle finger to Synder's special brand of brain-dead sycophants and other edgetards.

This is a middle finger to anything not going like the fans wanted. It's even a middle finger to those who don't like Doomsday Clock. Nothing matters, because anything can be declared as a multiverse/ metaverse alteration.
How DC is currently explaining how everything is somehow connected and can be manipulated is super interesting at the moment. They do it here, they did it in Dark Knights Metal… and now I'm wondering if The Last Knight somehow was influenced by those events.

When they decided to bring Manhattan into the DC Universe proper I expected the worst, and considering I don't read the big two anymore I didn't think I'd ever even look at it. But I'm actually enjoying this, not as a continuation of Watchmen but as a really interesting "what if" for Dr. Manhattan being in the DCU. It doesn't hurt that the art isn't physically painful to look at.
Anyone else notice how the Negress lusts for the Blue Dick?

I fully agree. I expected to hate this because I think Watchmen was great as a self-contained story, and mixing it up with the rest of the DC universe is absolute bullshit. However, you can't really argue with quality, and so far I think what they've done, and how they contrast him with Superman, is really well-written and interesting.
I didn't even mind negro Rorschach, it kinda makes sense that the son of his psychiatrist would become obsessed with what basically caused his father's mental breakdown.

Keep in mind it's been a while since I read the previous issues, but in a nutshell:
>Rorschach journal being published prompts president to investigate veidt
>World finds out about squid plan
>Cold war's going hot
>Veidt, desperate, enlists what little help he can get as a wanted man (the son of Rorschach's black therapist who took up the mantle because he has the wrong impression of him and a criminal couple named Marionette and Mime) to find wherever Manhatten went off to and try to bring him back and save their world
>End up in DCverse
>Veidt goes to speak with the local smartest man, ends up with Luthor, but the meeting's cut short by an assassination attempt by a revived Comedian
>Marionette and Mime fall in with the Joker
>Rorschach II meets Batman, gives him the journal, and gets thrown into Arkham for being a wackjob
>Saturn Girl's also interred there, she and elderly Johnny Thunder end up dragged along with Veidt
>Meanwhile, there's a running theory around the world called the Supermen Theory that posits that the majority of metahumans were caused/affiliated with the government for some nebulous purpose, causing anti-metahuman sentiment to build for anyone not named Superman (who's too busy doing hero things en masse to take a side in all the political shit)
>In turn, Black Adam is providing amnesty for any metahuman who wants to escape all the, soon building up an army, causing eerie parallels to the cold war was starting to boil in the Watchmenverse (but with metahumans in place of nukes)
>Some things happen and Veidt ends up forcing Manhatten to appear via his tweaked Bubastis II.
>Manhatten doesn't care about going back, ends up spilling that Veidt doesn't have brain cancer (which Veidt told Rorschach II to get him to make him think he was remorseful for everything) who in turn is forced to tell the truth about the first Rorschach being a psycho who was responsible for Reggie's family falling apart
>Reggie gets pissed, beats the shit out of Veidt, and hangs up his mask to live as a hobo
>Meanwhile Firestorm, one of the heroes particularly in the conspiracy limelight, accidentally turns an angry mob in Russia into glass in an unexpected powerboost. Superman helps him learn how
>When they try to go back to help the glassed people, the Russian government attacks Firestorm and Superman when he tries to defend him
>Batman bails them out, but Manhatten causes an explosion that knocks Supes out for a while
>Superhero Community trace the energy signature to Mars, assume Manhatten's the mastermind behind all this and head out en masse to confront him
>They get their collective asses kicked and used as bait to make Superman come to him
>In their absence Adam launches an attack with his army with only Wonder Women and Bats standing against him
>Veidt, despite being spurned by Manhatten, apprently has a plan B to save both his and the DCverse from tearing themselves apart
>He's got Johnny Thunder in captivity and Saturn Girl fades from existence because the future she's from no longer exists since the story was theorized to be used as a launching point for a new Legion book, but Geoff Johns taking so long to finish caused DC to give the book over to Bendis instead, so he had to abort that thread
>Also, Manhatten was responsible for the New 52 happening by causing the death of
>He's become interested in learning why Superman (and he rest of the DCverse by extension) is so much more full of hope compared to his, and experiments with making it darker and edgier by causing retcons like killing the Kents or removing Superman's affiliation with the Legion of Superheroes
>His clairvoyance also abruptly ends with a vision of a pissed Supes lunging at him, which he assumes to mean either Superman kills him or Manhatten destroys everything
This is missing a lot of details, but the images don't work for me to re-read the posted issues so far to jog my memory and I don't care enough to read them down elsewhere for a rundown.
