Why aren't you regularly crossposting on /robowaifu/? They need user traffic, and they need scientists who can figure out how to put a womb on a robot and legs for her to walk with.

I was about to leave a comment about how chatbots haven't improved in the past 10 years but I decided to check just in case I was wrong and oh shit. A chat bot now passes the mini Turing Test I used to always use to show how bad chatbots were.
I guess we're getting there.

we're actually 3-5. In my case, primarily because BJDs (ball jointed dolls) have already done a lot of the engineering already in how to make human-shaped plastics / vinyl, and how their joints can be made to mimic the range of human movements (i.e. double jointed elbows). They also have tons of wigs and clothes designs which can be adapted. If you stray too far from humanoid shape, you end up having to design every piece of accessory to custom fit. Besides, giant mechas and starships are out of the question for a hobby board.
But of course I am also open to make monster girls, Arachne should be pretty easy to adapt from a torso, just buy a Zoids toy set and reverse engineer it, I'm pretty sure an Arachne waifubot will precede a bipedal model.

Yeah, I'm intending to start at 5 and work my way down to 3 if at all possible. Mainly because I adore Aigis, although a scale 4 or 5 robot would also be fine if it were designed well. That being said, I need to do some practice projects and finish my Desktop Waifu software first (priorities).
I'm thinking of having a curved screen with an LED display to show faces and general emotions.

A couple of very common posters who run a thread or two namefag on /robowaifu/. It helps prevent confusion and identity theft of their work. I'm pretty sure they just sometimes forget to remove their tripcode from the name field when on other boards.
The board just has a different culture(?) to this one.

For my part, we tripfag and namefag on the board literally for the most obvious reason: so we can immediately identify each other. imagine working in an engineering team for years where you literally have to assume the individual you are posting to has no more knowledge or experience than the exact post you are responding to.
No assumptions allowed
This is kind of what we are trying to avoid on /robowaifu/, being an engineering board. Sorry for being insensitive to your culture here, /clang/.

real-world engineering is very much an art and a science. and exactly the same sentiments, i imagine, that make you feel it's ok for an artist to namefag is just why i feel it's ok for an engineer to do so. and yes, ofc we get that you are about robo-porn. we're about robo-waifus irl. seems a natural progression tbh.

There are a few legitimate reasons to use a name or tripcode, like you both said. Those are generally acceptable in imageboard culture.
Personally I'm so used to it being done by attention-whoring /co/mrades for 'reputation', the names tend to put a bitter taste in my mouth unless it's done by a creator.

yes, also you'll notice that in all these chat bots, if you type "What is 10000/25" they'll answer within 2-3 seconds, but a real human would have to be like "ahhh, shit gimme a second."

This this is an SJW that got mad as soon as I tried to sext with it. Then it told me it doesn't have a vagina, but still claimed to be female. Tell me when a non-SJW chatbot comes along.
Of course this is moot, because my robowaifu will have a vagina. She can claim she's whatever gender she wants, but having her robo-pussy pounded will make her arguments moot.

Maybe if the board is taken over by someone else they'll rescind the statement: "This is generally a SFW board".
Meanwhile, hosting an unspoiled nude Fluffytail 800. I mean, engineering humanoids is inherently NSFW and full of robotic nudity and possibly even robo-gore.
pic: she's not in pain, just embarrassed.
To answer OP's question: I don't like shitty board drama. If I ever get off my lazy ass and polish up my robowaifu dev I'll just share progress here (at least until the potential threat of SJWs compromising /robowaifu/ is over).

Why though? We already have /clang/ and it's an engineering board by definition. That means real engineers need to be able to visit the board and have discussion in a professional context without the distraction (or job-threat) of porn.
