You can now only cook with one spice for the rest of your life. What spice do you choose, and why is it smoked paprika?

Smoked paprika is fucking god tier.
I make single pot rice dishes way too often and smoked paprika is always a spice I put in from Jambalaya to Paella.
Cayenne pepper is a go to spice of mine as well, might be because it might as well be called Cayenne paprika.

Garlic is not a spice.
Garlic is an aromatic root vegetable (unless you're using the shoots).
Garlic is closely related to onions, leeks, and shallots.
Now that's out of the way…
If you're talking about garlic powder, that is, dried and ground garlic, rather than fresh garlic, sure. That's maybe a spice, not unlike ground turmeric.
Herbs vs spices is a fascinating discussion, not unlike "is a tomato a fruit?" (yes).

Is black pepper a spice? If so then that, because the piperine in it assists the absorbtion of many nutrients so it effectively makes foods more nutritious.
It doesn't taste bad either. Good on carrots, pumpkin, kale, and chocolate.

Poor retarded monkey. One day you will evolve enough to understand my simple words. You may pull a bulb of garlic out of the dirt, but it is not a root. Just because part of a plant is touching dirt does not make that part a root. Garlic and onions are not the root part of the plant. Garlic and onions are enlarged stems. Potatoes are part of the root, and are root vegetables. Carrots, turnips, parsnips, and rutabagas are also root vegetables. Garlic, onions, and shallots are not.
