how do you get this shit to have any actual flavor without soy sauce?

rice+egg hardly has any flavor for me, but i don't want to put soy sauce on anything

Ponzu sauce is better for this. It's soy sauce yes, but I eat enough onions to counteract the soy. Also, go to your nearest japanese food market and pick up some furikake for your tamago kake gohan.

In addition to >>14335 and >>14337 I recommend subbing fish or oyster sauce for soy sauce. It's not an alternative for EVERY dish but most recipes that call for soy sauce can use oyster/fish sauce just as easily.

I would only try that if a room temp egg was mixed into the hot rice immediately and it actually cooked the egg.

Nigger, I can get avoiding soy milk/soy protein/etc, but soy sauce has way, way lower (practically zilch) phytoestrogens, and you only use a tiny amount in things anyway. A shitload of other foods like almonds have phytoestrogen, and massive amounts of processed shit have soy lecithin in them. Also guess what? If you drink milk/eat meat you get actual mammalian estrogen from them which is more potent. Soy sauce is not going to have any effect whatsoever on you: http://extoxnet.orst.edu/faqs/natural/phytamt2.htm

Like this guy says you literally can just use any ingredients you want, 99% of fried chicken recipes don't use brown sugar or any sugar really but I always make it my main ingredient and it's 10/10 chicken. Just use any spices you have at hand. You can't go wrong.

>Implying that cows and hens produce estrogen only on 'factory farms'

If you're such a weak bitch boy that the amount of estrogen you get from your food throws off your hormonal balance, then maybe you should stick to bread and water. You know, just in case.
