Transcendental meditation is the final result of mind-emptying meditation. Many believe it to be Satanic. If so, how would I go about meditating like Jesus did?

Friendly reminder for everyone to not do this unless you wish to explain to Christ why you were an idolater and a heathen

Good post.
I would also add that the Holy Spirit works actively, meaning there is a part of it which isn't of our doing or completely in our control. One needs to understand this.

Err.. Sorry, I deleted and was going to edit. But thanks. Funny that you mention that, but I was going to mention the same about the Holy Spirit.

Basically, what I intended to say was that we do not seek emptiness, but God. We pray. We do not ask for peace as a goal in itself, but salvation. There's difference between peace and salvation really. One requires a relationship to an Other. And that makes all the difference in the world.

The Apostles Creed is basically the Nicene Creed.
Then you have 6 Our Father's and 5 Glory Be To the Triune God, straight out of the Bible.
Then there are 53 Hail Marys. the first part of the Hail Mary is straight out of the Bible, the second half you ask the Blessed Mother of God to pray for us.
You throw in the Mysteries of the Birth, Crucifixion, and Resurrection of Christ.
You end with a Hail Holy Queen.
How you get idolatry and heathen out of that is just silly.

Probably everything similar to the practices of dharmic religions will come from monastic/eremitic practices since such religions are largely monastic and ascetic movements.

Unironically this. If you go through all the mysteries in one day, maybe an hour or so of your time, you get a very solid grasp of Christ's life. If you go further and do a scriptural devotion of the rosary you go even further. I highly recommend it.

No part of that blasphemous sacrilege is from scripture. It is a pagan perversion derived from fallen man's contempt for the only true God, just like all idolatry.

Fasting while continuously in prayer. That seems to be one of the more intense prayers Jesus did in his ministry. Maybe you don't have to be as hardcore to do it 40 days in the wilderness, but anywhere in the direction can only be an improvement.
