So is it "let every soul be subject to higher powers" or "everyone be subject to governing authorities"? Which is the original definition?

"the powers that be are ordained of God" that's hard to believe, since the state is so against God's ways?

>since the state is so against God's ways?

Unlike the Roman Empire of the first century, which was the biggest friend of Christianity ever?

It's powers. Anyone who thinks Christianity is okay with government at all is nuts. God gets pissed when Israel asks for a king.

I'm glad you like it. What do you think?

I was shocked to find this and I find it extremely compelling

It's very interesting. I'm currently getting into Christian Anarchism by reading Leo Tolstoy, and was confused with Romans 13's different translations. The part where the author talks about the constitution really cleared it up for me.

I am very tempted to christian anarchism but I dont have an answer to the apparent affirmation of state authority to capital punishment in the Bible. What do you think?

that's complicated, here is an article i found on it, https://www.biblegateway.com/blog/2011/09/what-does-the-bible-say-about-capital-punishment/ but the bible clearly condones it, but Jesus himself was unjustly crucified through capital punishment.

I say go with the Christianity primarily and anarchism second. The bible also condones slavery, not what we now think of race based slavery but still slavery. I would just got with the bible. Anarchism also believes that people are naturally good, while Christianity believes their naturally evil.

Here is some books on Anarchism if you're interested https://bunkerchan.xyz/leftypol/res/668788.html#668814

My holdout isn't about the morality of capital punishment, it's about the apparent design for state authority in execution. At the least this would imply a minarchist state where the state has little of a sole role of carrying out executions.

Left anarchism is rubbish

Okay, i'm not equipped to help you there. Why is left anarchist rubbish? and isn't anarcho-capitalism the other right version of anarchism?

Okay , i don't agree with the left, but anarchism is it's own political theory that goes against communism.
