Is it plausible that the 1000 year millennial rule of Christ has passed? Is it possible that Satan has been let loose? And possibly has been on the loose for maybe even centuries at this point? It seems as we may be living in the period between the millennium and the resurrection of the dead. Just my insight but maybe I'm wrong. However I am not saying the end of the world is imminent (although it could be).
Literal millennialism is a heresy, Protestants who hold this view are not welcome in this discussion.

By millennium, I'm assuming you mean the Age of the Church? In that case, God is still doing great things. The Church is still growing. It might be dark for the West, but that doesn't indicate anything. They're not the center of the world or even the center of the Church. There was a time when the center of the Church was Syria and Turkey. When those fell into darkness, the Church still thrived elsewhere. The same will happen with the West.

There was a millenial rule from the coronation of Charlemagne to the disollution of the Empire by the revolutionaries.

The beauty of Amillenialism is it can support the best sides of pre and post, but without leaving room for the kookiest of theories (Dispensationalism on one end or Dominionism on the other).

The Catholic reading of it is that the millenium was the reign of His Church until the revolution of the 1500's. We could be in that period just before the Satan is unleahsed.

>the millennial rule of Jesus Christ was actually the millennial rule of the pope
