The Torah itself explains the reality of converts and slaves becoming Jews. This is why Ruth, a Moabite (modern Jordan or thereabouts) became a fully fledged Jew herself. When parts of the bible forbid relationships with strange/foreign women, it's talking about women outside of God's covenant. That happened to be the bulk of the world at the time, but any one of them could have converted and become Jews.
This is even where the ritual of Baptism comes from. This is what so insulting to the Pharisees when John the Baptist started telling them they also had to be baptized (since they prided themselves as being pure Jews), and told them even the very STONES could become children of Abraham.

I grew up in a black southern baptist church. I did not grow at all there and just learned that everyone around me were just mimicking each other to appear “filled with the Holy Ghost” and that few even understood what their faith was really about. The pastor and the choir always put on an absurdly theatrical performance and got everyone excited, but most of them couldn’t tell you what the service’s message was about when it was all done.
In short, stay away from black churches. You will quickly find that Christianity is a by-product at best to what is happening. Furthermore, the body of Christ in the USA needs to come together and end the voluntary segregation that keeps us divided and easily conquered by atheists, mason, and jews.
