If taken as true under all circumstances then God is evil. If taken as true when dealing with men, then it's useful with dealing with insincere men, but not useful when dealing with sincere men. But, most men are not sincere, and if a man proves in some way to be sincere and you're willing to change your apriori evaluation, then the result can be neutral to negative. If not, then it's generally positive. In most cases, this Is an okay heuristic, but should not be taken literally since there can't be any virtue of forgiveness preached without ulterior motives being assumed present.
