yeah, catholic school in australia, primary and secondary

>2

my school didn't really teach me about christianity and church culture was only very loosley affiliated, although we'd celebrate ash wednesday and go to a mass once a year, most of the kids weren't even christians and alot of exchange students from asia who probably had no idea what was going on.

I feel as if the quality of these schools vary, I only found out there was an SSPX school with classical education near where I live until after I graduated.

I did go to a Christian school. The public schools in my area are really bad, so I’m glad that I went to a private Christian one. I also learned so much about the Christian faith from school. My parents didn’t really talk about Christianity to me. Unfortunately, it was a Protestant school, but still, I learned a lot and had some awesome teachers.

I went to a small catholic high school near my town for my freshman and sophomore years. I left because I prefered the people at my public school who I had and have been good friends with. The culture of the catholic school was, despite the dresscode and once monthly mass, not very different from my public school. People were the usual secular brand of conservative. Funny enough I started taking my faith more seriously after I left.

1. Yes. I went to Catholic high school.

2. Yeah. It really got me interested in Ancient and Medieval (pre-1400s) philosophy along with converting me to Catholicism in the first place. The theology classes were very informative and gave me a good insight into not only the teachings of the Church, but the core message of Jesus' salvation of man through the Sacraments and the Mystery of the Cross, which I really didn't get at my old UMC church, which was more progressive and always talked about politics more than faith. I've also met a lot of cool pious Catholics there along with introducing me to my local Catholic community, which is full of nice pious and observant people, so I liked overall.

1. no, not really. i went to catholic school for my third grade year and thats it.

2. yes, depending on the school. while there are many Catholic schools that teach the faith and offer high quality traditional education, there are many more that fail on most fronts. The elder half of my siblings did go to catholic school for most of their lives, but us younger siblings turned out far more traditional. It may have been the case that going to a low income, rual school filled with baptists aided my development in defending my faith or pushed me away from academia, but i can't help but feel that had my mother had the money, i could have gotten a whole lot more out of my education. i wish i could have just gone for highschool. If i can't afford this for my children, i'll at least set up a traditional catholic / orthodox homeschool group which may be preferable.

My best friend did briefly attend a christian academy which i think was baptist. She was bullied there by the principle and dated one of those "satanist" atheist types who abused her.

I went to non christian public school. It was terrible. It was a very atheistic environment, teaching an anti-christian world view. I became an atheist at 14 and only recently came back to the faith. The school promoted all sorts of wicked things such as sodomy.

I wish I was schooled in a wholesome christian environment. I will never send my kids to a similar school system to the one I went to.
