Greetings, I'm searching for answers here because I feel the need to reconnect with God but I lost my faith a long time ago. I was rised in the Catholic Church and took the eucaristy but never did the sacrament of confirmation. My life is a real mess. I'm an alcoholic degenerate NEET loser and I want to take control of my life and I think only God could do that but even if I pray daily I never feel anything in my heart. I pray to God, I go to Church but nothing changes. I lost my faith and I can't get it back no matter my efforts. What could I do, brothers? I want to join the Catholic Church again but I'm socially inept and really weird (almost mentally ill but idk). By the way I don't wish to get married but I think catholicism accepts celibacy even among seculars.

dont worry you dont have to talk to anyone at church except a priest to consult for confirmation and anonymously for confession and during mass to give the greeting of peace which doesn't have to involve words.

I had lost my faith at one point as well. I’m sorry about your alcoholism. It’s one thing I’m glad I never got into. My drug of choice to dull the pain was marijuana, it’s much milder than alcohol and one can function on it when they build a tolerance. I don’t consider marijuana a sin but the the way I was using it was excessive. I feel like your alcoholism is somewhat the same, it may likely fall under control with little effort as soon as you are healed from whatever pain that is tormenting you. I’ve been without a single hit of marijuana for months now, I don’t feel a craving for it at all, but I also have no reason to pass it up if ever I’m offered it. Same with alcohol.

In order to heal from my pain I had to learn a few things about God and have faith in them. It was not easy because I had to accept many things that made me fall as a product of my own making or what would’ve been something I did to others. The whole process was chaotic and it came in phases so I can’t place a finger on it looking back now. There was a couple of times where I got better then the next lesson started and I had to solve that. This went on and on till the last lesson was given and it required a lot of faith to pass it. Sorry I can’t be more clear, it usually always involves getting into details.

Pour out your heart to God, sit silent and listen for Him and read the Bible. Match what you hear from God to the Bible, that way you're certain you're hearing from him. And turn on worship music. Then ask him to guide you to the right church.

Do what Jesus would do.

Love others as you would yourself.

Keep the testimony of Christ and obey the 10 commandments, including the Sabbath.

Not at all. That’s all superstition. No one that uses marijuana believes that. There are people that have done it one time and because the effects are new to them and the rumors alive in their minds it scares them the first time. It’s a medicine/gift from God himself. It has many uses and I promise you what you’ve heard about it is all lies. My word carries no weight though. Specially because of the way Christianity has believed the lie and created false connections to the Bible through it. I will say this if it helps anyone.

(I know this is all unorthodox on the board, but this is important)

Father in Heaven! If I’m lying or being deceitful, destroy me where I stand! May You destroy me with plague and sickness till I die slow Father, if you judge a quick death too good for me. May You’r will be done! May it take effect immediately! In Jesus’ name! Amen!

Now I encourage every anon that disagrees with me about marijuana to go to God in prayer and tell Him I agreed to hand myself over to Him and pray that my “heresy and deceit” is put an end to. Then just be yourselves in prayer.

I say all this because we are beyond debating with scripture on this subject and we could use confirmation by the Lord, but we only ask for this after we’ve done everything to get through each other and with every effort exhausted we may ask for a strong confirmation because at this point we need the blessing.

BYW, Just did my first dose of edible marijuana in over a year, my first dose of any marijuana at all in over two months. Anyone want to ask me anything to see what’s it’s like to talk to a Christian ”pot head” (air-quotes). The way you guys talk about pot so far is like you’ve never talked to a ”stoner”.
