I'm 18 years old and am severely balding. I can't hide it anymore and it's speeding up even though I'm not sick or anything, just unlucky. Asking this, as I have existing problems with vanity, know the phrase Not a hair on our head goes grey without the permission of God and also I'm aware of how sinful plastic surgery is, nevertheless, I ask, whether it is because I truly want to know or just need to be told off, can I get hair implants? It's within my budget and not that expensive here, I have the money.

Going on various very secular and modern Christian forums looking for people talking about this of course you'll hear What? I don't see why. It's not in the Bible and Well, you've got to be comfortable in your own skin, not upset, you've got to be able to find a woman etc. So very weak reasons other than just accepting such a thing within humility and against vanity. This is a pathetic question, I know, please share a thought

Getting a hair transplant is the opposite of being comfortable in one's skin

you can get hair implants but you'll most likely regret it later and wish you'd just gone bald. You'll also have to do it again as your hairline recedes.

There's no great solution to baldness so you'll eventually resign yourself to it. However, you're young and just establishing yourself in the world so some extra confidence right now wouldn't be a bad thing. Confidence in yourself is important so you should do it if you believe it will raise your confidence.

Honestly? Try going bald entirely (shave it off with hair clippers and use a safety razor to get it smooth.)

That should give you some further insight as to which route to take.

Cheers!

Hair implants are not a sin. There is nothing in the Bible about such topics. If such false vanities were a sin then wigs and hairpieces would’ve been addressed in the NT.

I wouldn’t get any implants if I were in your shoes. Your better off going bald with dignity. But that’s just a personal opinion.

There is nothing biblically against what you want. Just many reasons it may be a bad idea, but, not a sin. Vanity? Perhaps. Not a sin though.

Also if God is making you bald (He is since he’s in control of everything), don’t fight it. There’s a scripture I think in OT, about men being stricken with baldness. I don’t remember where, it might be in one of the prophet books, and I’m not saying your being punished, and I’m not saying you aren’t. But if it’s God’s will then don’t fight it. Maybe being bald is what’s best for you. But I feel for you that’s for sure, I would hate to loose my hair. May God give you clarity on the issue.

My mistake I forgot to ask a few questions about some habits of yours. Do you wear baseball caps? Many people I know that do go bald very early because their follicles are suffocating. Also, many people go bald because they don’t stimulate their hair follicles with a mild scraping that removes a layer of oil from the scalp that suffocates the follicles. Bloodflow to the follicles is very important and scraping the head with a rough brush has helped a lot of people. My sister is a hair stylist, she strongly recommended it to me when I was starting to lose some hair from stress. My hair growth stabilized but around that same time I got rid of a lot of stress so it’s hard to say if it helped or not. But one thing for sure, after the scraping with the brush I noticed I can feel my scalp when I touched it, something I couldn’t do before. I had very little feeling when I would touch my scalp before the brushing. And you only need to do it for 10-15 min once a month with your hair in a dry state. Not when your sweating and or fresh out of the shower. If that’s your problem then you should see results in three months. I figure you can get implants at any time, and rough-brushing your scalp costs practically nothing and you can do it while watching a movie. Cant hurt to try it at all.

Here’s a pic of the brush. They are called “bristle hair brushes’ there are many kinds. The most basic one should be enough and is very cheap compared to hair implants. If the reason for your balding is poor bloodflow and suffocating follicles then this is gonna help for sure. If not, we’ll, at least now you know it’s not that. But if you can help the problem naturally, why not.

No indeed, it's alopecia, which is just male baldness when it occurs as young as with me. Appreciate it a lot, guys, but I don't think scalp massages or taking vitamin B etc will help, never wear baseball caps, etc.. I'll try the brush though

My cousin who's a decade older has the same issue as me now, and wouldn't have any moral objections against doing it. He'll be planning to get them later this year in Turkey where there's a hotspot for this stuff and I might have an opportunity to join him, that's why it's a relevant question for me to ask. I'll just buzzcut now and wait it out but can't discuss it any longer because I'm emberrassed to bring this idiocy unto this board.

I don't think hair implants are sinful. You are just replacing something that you've lost, so it's not that much different than getting a prosthetic leg after having lost your real leg.

Plastic surgery is sinful because it changes your body to have features it did not have before. If you did not have these features before, you did not need them and to insist on having them is to imply that God made a mistake when he created you.

The problem is he is not being confident in himself but in an addition. Do you not see?
