If the catholics and protestants arguing religion were motivated by Christ then they would be looking for things they agree on, not things they disagree on. They would be distressed by the division between them and they would be more concerned for the salvation and faith of the person they are arguing with than their opinions on Christianity.
Our minds can be, and are, completely and totally controlled by the omnipresent system of indoctrination and corruption that surrounds us in this world. We have no reason to place faith in our opinions or our intellectual perception of our Lord and our salvation.
Over 20 years ago I left the church, renounced organized Christianity, and set out to find the truth of our world. Prior to that most of my research was into church history, theology, and WW2 (the holocaust specifically). It took me over 20 years to discover the truth of this world (SPOILER:most conspiracy theories are true) and I spent that 20 years studying philosophy, social science, history, politics and whatever else I could find. I wandered through an ideological maze intended to trap intelligent minds and prevent the discovery of real truth and the only reason why I made it through to the end is because God completely turned my perception around in a miraculous way.
One day I realized that whether or not God exists, it's best to obey him. Accepting that truth was an act of humbling myself, though I didn't know it at the time. As soon as I did that God worked a miraculous work and completely changed my perception in a way that I had no control over. It was the weirdest feeling. I could feel my perception changing and I felt no control over those changes. I couldn't direct that change or guide it in any way. All I could do is submit to God or submit to fear and I chose to submit to God.
The one thing I learned clearly is that I can't trust my own mind and opinions. None of us can. If salvation depends on an intellectual understanding of salvation then none of us will ever be saved. These arguments which we have about theology which we feel are so vital are actually empty and without purpose or meaning. They are devoid of love and charity and they are unconcerned about the actual character of the person we are arguing with.
This board is shilled by satanic organizations and people that have the goal of making this board satanic and filling it with anger and strife because they are afraid of what will happen if the Spirit of Christ reigns here. To my brothers in Christ, Catholic, orthodox, protestant, or whatever, avoid these arguments. When you feel yourself replying in anger, stop. The light and love of Christ should be apparent on this board and all it takes is 2-3 of us that are motivated by the love of Christ instead of a desire to win an argument and this board will become a place where salvation can be found. It will become a shelter from the storm.
