And do you think the bible is the complete and infallible word of God or do you think His word exists outside of those scriptures as well?

A well meaning but misguided Protestant. Probably a current or former 4/pol/ poster.

Most nearly church of Christ or home church movement.

Probably not saved.

Take a step back and realise that all those things you listed are good in the right sense and with the right context..

I think your heart is in the right place but you need to do more research into philosophy and history of The Church.

God bless and guide you.

Im still learning both History and Scripture.

It gets very messy after the Council of Jerusalem.

I just want the essence of what Christ taught. As a programmer we hate bloat, we know the paretto principle (80/20, 20% of something is the most important/valuable). A lot of Catholicism is mostly bloat in my opinion.

What Christ taught us is the most crucial. Not what man thinks or interprets or adds to his Word.

>80/20, 20% of something is the most important/valuable

No, it means 80% of everything(goods/features/bugs, etc.) flows from 20% of the whole.

Doesn't mean everything outside of that 20% is redundant.

A dead man if, you don't take this seriously. >Matthew 15:1-28 21st Century King James Version (KJ21) The Fulfillment of the Law

17 Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them. 18 For I tell you truly,

until heaven and earth pass away, not a single jot, not a stroke of a pen, will disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.

19 So then, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven;

but whoever practices and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

I dont see what your verse implies other than become more righteous than the Pharisees. And following the commandments of God will get you to heaven.

In the same Gospel, the disciples after hearing many statements to the same effect, finally ask him how anyone can be saved.

Matthew 19

> 25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?

> 26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

So then we see that the Lord wanted us to realise the truth on the matter, that without the help of our Saviour, without God, and his work, we would never be able to earn or merit our own salvation. It doesn't matter what it is you're trusting in if it isn't on Jesus Christ, the very blood that he shed for us in our place, it will not be worthy enough to redeem us from sin. As he said, I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)

We have to believe his word when He says that whosoever believes on Him are those that shall never die. As it says:

John 11

> 25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

> 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Otherwise, it is simply an act of disbelief in those things He said. Consider what the Apostle John wrote also in his epistle:

1 John 5

> 9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.

> 10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

We should believe God, otherwise it will be the word that He spoke which shall judge us in the last day (see John 12:48). As the New Testament also says in Hebrews 2:3, how shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation? The answer is no one will escape if they neglect his Word and disbelieve it despite God especially leaving that word for us to believe. Remember what Jesus said in the Gospel,

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life."
