I have seen this passage used by those advocating 'social justice.' But is that what this passage is explicitly suggesting?

The passage is explicitly compelling you to do good. The postmodern assumption is that inequity is oppression and it's the role of the state to rectify everything through confiscatory taxation.
In immediate context, Isaiah is prophesying to Judah and Jerusalem about their wickedness. These are things in particular which the people are neglecting.

Thanks. I am taking finishing up some studies online from a Methodist university and they had that passage posted on the website since all the rioting began. I figured it was their hint at solidarity so they didn't get the student body riled up.

Notice firstly that they use a modern version that vacates the concept of judgement. Secondly, they add these vaguely non-christian symbols to imply that we need to tolerate false doctrine or that every belief system is right. Third, they add Africa as a backdrop to suggest that helping the people around you is not acceptable, it has to have the racial element of liberating tolerance. They add the different stylized fonts to suggest this is a bunch of different people being quoted rather than one, and the words Isaiah 1:17 is in narrow font barely visible at the bottom

It's pretty straightforward. if you can't understand it then I doubt that anyone will be able to clear it up for you. Your error is that you don't understand the difference between "social justice" and justice. The commies have the habit of appropriating terms to give people a false impression of the concept. They changed socialism to "social science" to make people believe that post-modernism is science, they changed "Critical thinking" to "critical theory" to make people think brainwashing is rational thought and they changed "justice" to "social justice" to make people believe their hateful anti-white/anti-Christian tyranny has some relation to justice.

Fun thing is, ive actually seen social justice used in neutral contexts, even by churches, but in that case, it actually means making sure society is fair and people get along.

Doctrine of Man.
They aren't necessarily evil or wrong. But the Gospel holds sway over them.
The evil is from false churches attempting to dilute the message of the Gospel or creating an entirely false Gospel in the process.
God will still work through different institutions and movements because He is sovereign. But the Gospel is the Gospel. There is no such thing as 'The Social Gospel', which only detracts from it.

If anything, that passage calls us to fight against social justice

You have misunderstood what it means to take the lords name in vain, good sir. My use of it is ok. Since I’m calling upon it for patience to deal with this crafty image.
Taking the lords name in vain means one adopts the lords name and His will for ones life, then that same person doesn’t show through their dealings with others that the Lord has any power over there life. Taking the lords name in vain is not what you think it to be. Once one takes the name of the Lord, that person’s actions should show others that the Lords name has power over the said person. Our actions onto others show wether we adopt that name vainly. We sin against this commandment many times without knowing it. For that we have forgiveness by God through prayer.
Just saying “Jesus Christ” when we are shocked or grieved is not a sin and is not the proper understanding of that commandment. Since the Bible is clear that if one can control his tongue than that man is perfect, then it goes to show it’s impossible for one to control his speech completely, since perfection is impossible.
I can also say “hell” however I please and I do, as well as “damn”. But when it comes to the name of Jesus, I use that in calling out for patience or humility or strength, when I hear something that bothers me or see it. I also use it when something amuses me to a point that it’s hilarious to me, in that case my soul is thanking Christ for the joke/hilarity. You have a very cartoonish understanding of that commandment. Jesus Christ!

You know what i mean.
I've seen the term used, even by respectable institutions
However, it wasn't used in this retarded, intersectionalist SJWism.

I saw your post, it's just that unlike you I took into account the fact you have little to no understanding of scripture so I chose to prioritize scripture and God's commandments over your excuses for disobeying it. Repent.

Saying “Jesus Christ” randomly or on purpose is not taking the lords name in vain. The Jews were never given that name in Moses’ days. You need to think brother. Think!
Jesus Christ! God Almighty! Oh the humanity! All is lost! All is lost! All is lost on this anon! Jesus Christ!

Of coarse not. They weren’t given that name. That’s a fact. Don’t be such a cartoon. Oh my God! Where did you come up with that question? Just because your parents slapped you across the face and taught you a lie you don’t rationalize it today.
Jesus Christ! Lord Almighty! How can I reach this one Jesus? Only you can Lord! Jesus Christ!!!
