Why not? Having a big ego causes people to hate you and it alienates you from the world. Autistic loners are alienated from the world, as are monks. Michael Laitman said Jews have a bigger ego than other people.

God chooses the meek. The meek bow there heads to God alone. They don’t yield to lies, and being accepted by people is impossible without accepting their lies. The meek have many enemies because they are meek toward God and firm against bullish!t. The meek are often taken as egotistical because they refuse to accept truly egotistical people in their lives.
God chooses those who love him and hate the world. Those who are flexible toward Him and stubborn toward the world. If you ask this question then you are of the world. I’m calling it now.

You have misunderstood what ego truly is. If someone wants to hurt you and you don’t let them, would you call that stubbornness? If you know something is right and you refuse to accept a lie, are you being egotistical? Am I being egotistical right now because I know God hates those with an ego. I’ve never once read in the Bible about any prophet that a reasonable person would call egotistical. Maybe the monks you’ve met have been.

I know autistic people and not one is egotistical, in fact the ones I know are super shy and wouldn’t harm anyone. I’m not autistic either and I’m a hermit. I refuse to marry a girl who isn’t a virgin which mean I won’t date one that I don’t suspect solidly of being one.
