No. The united methodist church officially just voted to split on the issue of homosexuality, and the majority liberals are keeping the denomination. There is a new traditionalist denomination that is going to form but it's probably delayed because of COVID.
There are other wesleyan denominations like nazarenes or "the wesleyan church", or even independents.
What you should actually do though is realize baptism is by immersion and only for believers and become a baptist.

Well, there you go! The internet is never wrong. The Internet told you UMC because… you filled out a survey and your feelings fit the beliefs of the UMC the best!
I don't think it works that way, but then I'm a Catholic because it is the more narrow path and I have to repent, confess and give up sin.
Yeah, that's difficult.

If you got UMC, then it's a good chance you're a Methodist of some kind at least. Any Christian, for that matter, who actually values good works (because they listen to all of scripture), but doesn't feel like larping as a Papist or Orthodox is going to be a Methodist.

I remember getting 100% orthodox and 100% lutheran.
I've read On the Bondage of the Will by Luther and he is insane, I guess lutherans don't follow him. I recommend reading the literature of some churches instead.

I'm okay with gay marriage tbh. Jesus said do unto others and let he who is without sin cast the first stone. As long as they aren't flaming gay pride propagandists I see no problem. I also see no problem with female pastors/priests. As long as they are competent church leaders and can give a decent sermon I don't see the point of excluding them.

Christianity isn't about personal judgements were one "sees no problem" with the things Our Lord taught were the problems of sin.
You just can't contradict Christ like that and call yourself a Christian.
Even the Protestants should agree on this, as it's right in the Bible.
No women teaching men.
No effeminate (homosexual) men will reach heaven.
>>836364
This is the problem with Protestantism: all too often parts of the Bible are taken out of context to justify sin, and other parts of the Bible are utterly ignored.

I'm not contradicting Christ. I may be contradicting the old testament but I really don't care about those old Jew laws and neither did Jesus. If he did he would have stoned the adulterous woman.
John 8
>3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, 4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
>7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
>10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? 11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

He didn't say he didn't care. READ. He said "sin no more" (i.e. he told her to REPENT). He wished to exercise his power of forgiveness, but never did he say he didn't care. If he didn't care, he would not have forgave at all. Forgiveness and saying "sin no more" actually acknowledges the sin, unlike whatever flippant behavior you're doing.

>For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

If you're not contradicting Christ then you've made Paul contradict Christ, as Paul says men who lust for other men are worthy of the highest penalty. Conductor we have a problem.

Paul does contradict Christ. I can read Christ's teachings myself. I don't need Paul to reinterpret them for me. He never even walked with Christ.

>Paul does contradict Christ. I can read Christ's teachings myself. I don't need Paul to reinterpret them for me. He never even walked with Christ.
It follows that you're compelled to discard the Gospel of John as well, as his gospel is radically different from the synoptics. What we're left with then is the synoptic gospels alone, perhaps not even that, but solely the sayings of Christ. After all, the disciples who walked with Jesus nearly always misunderstood Him, so they would be unreliable narrators in your view.
Do you even think Jesus is God? Jesus doesn't explicitly state this in the synoptic gospels. Others around Him might interpret that, but we've already established the Bible is contradictory in your view.
Another issue with this position is Jesus treats the Old Testament as being an actual, historical account and that Adam was a historical person. Jesus was the fulfillment of messianic prophecy in the Old Testament. Sodom and Gomorrah is therefore a historical account, and there's no division between the divine nature of Jesus and the God who nuked Sodom. There's no division between Christ and the God who made humanity man and woman, and told us to go forth and multiply. How can this possibly be reconciled with sodomite marriage?
The truth is the entire Bible is divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit and it's inerrant. It's all the Word of God.

I think of Paul as "Christ's pharisee." He even comes close to reciting the pharisee prayer "I wish that all men were as I am" (1 Corinthians 7:7). Paul is Christ's way of testing who would follow Paul and who would follow Him. You obviously choose Paul. I choose Jesus.

You don't know why God nuked Sodom. The idea that it was because of buttsechs gets trotted out a lot by bigots but it's probably just more projection. I believe The Bible is divinely inspired and inerrant. I'm just not a Bible idolater. And neither was Christ.
