It's delightfully cheesy to me that almost every subculture on image boards has their own flavor of the Doomer.

No, but I relate to a few of the statements in the first image. I’ve never identified with the doomer meme. The doomer despairs and as a Christian, even if you’re feeling down or flat-out depressed, you shouldn’t at least identify as a despairing individual. There’s always hope.

i dunno buddy, throughout the scripture we have examples of men of God despairing of their lives though they had much faith, and had major victories over the enemies of The Lord, such as Moses dealing with the rebellions of Israel, David when on the run from his son Absalom, Elijah on the run from Jezebel though he has just slain hundreds of prophets of Baal, and Paul when he said "For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers, of the affliction we experienced in Asia. For we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself."
the Christian shouldn't be surprised to go through the valley of the shadow of death, nor be stripped of all strength just as their Master who promised that 'in this life you will have troubles' was so drained of all His human resources that angels needed to minister to Him in Gethsemane
of course in each of these examples God Himself met their needs by miraculous intervention, but in each of these examples we also have the model that God will divest His children of all their resources so as to be more fully dependent on Him for the strength necessary to walk the narrow path of a disciple – and it is necessary that God strip prideful man of trusting to his own strength, working up a false faith within his idolatrous heart; for all the Glory must go to God the sole source of every good thing

Sure, my point was that while you might go through despair, you shouldn't identify as an individual of despair as if it defines you. I've never liked the "doomer" meme not only because it's just not really amusing/relatable to me, but also because it weirdly encourages people to wear despair as some defining characteristic of their identity. It's totally understandable to go through despair, but it's another thing to basically be a more modern version of an "emo".

aye, i take your point, and to be frank, it was only on rereading your original post that i saw your emphasis and the value of it - my own comment being taken up with a focus on the error of putting on a brave face when one is heartbroken
my apologies if i came across more confrontational than i intended, anon

That’s fine! Even if it was based on misunderstanding my initial post, you still made a good post. It wasn’t too confrontational or anything. We basically agree anyways lol. God bless.

Anyone calling themselves a doomer has not met the Spirit of Christ, who was promised to you in trying times. They do not know the joy and contentment of the warm embrace of God making their home with them. I pray that they do. They're just as lonely, in the dark, and immersed in evil as the rest of the world, and could scarcely be called a Christian.

He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

That doesn't have anything to do with "doomers", and Jesus' "sorrow" was not of his own making. But only how outsiders and persecutors perceived him (only few could see the truth, like the thief who knew Jesus was a KING). The real truth is that only a man of immeasurable love and light would take upon the sins of the world. Doomers, on the other hand, wouldn't do this. They are insular, self-absorbed, and care more about their own problems rather than sacrifice and love for others. If they had love, they wouldn't be doomers at all. They would develop a sense of gratitude and contentment and generosity to those less fortunate than them.

Nope. Ever since joining the Church, entering the workforce, and removing most forms of social media from my life, I've led a much more fulfilling life.
>get off /pol/ and facebook
>start exercising and praying more often
>go outside and socialize with others (even if it's with secularists you disagree with)
You need to find a healthy balance between your traditional values and being a "normie", as otherwise you'll always be in a permanent self-exile.

I gotta tell you that my journey into and with the Christian Faith went like this:
>doomer
>bloomer
>short period of go-getter
>doomer in the last circle of hell
What jump-started me into the bloomer period was developing good work ethic and taking responsibility for my wrongdoings. The go-getter period came to be by having a good circle of friends, good job, and good sense of self; all excited my soul so much that I praised God often. Well, the last period came to be by losing all I mentioned before and having the consciousness that you did, had, and knew better though for some reason can't get out of that mess. Still crawling my way out.

I would say one of my biggest faults is love of neighbor. I am told to love my neighbor, but I find people in general tiring. I have autism, and CANNOT COMPREHEND the need for community. I sometimes think of becoming an old time anchorite, where they have you walled in for life. I used to want to get married. NOW, I am loath to even consider the thought of it; the idea feels me with a great… distaste. I have hated parties for the longest time…UNLESS there is decent food, in which case, I MIGHT come. I HATE group work. I remember when I was in school and they had us do group work. I did it by myself. I don't hate people…but I also don't want to be around them usually, let alone form relationships with them

Many of us DO LOVE them…but we often experience a futile despair for them, as you watch them fall of the deep end, sinning unabashedly. I watch catholic fall from their faith and deny it…and it feels me with a despair of sorts. I tell those I love to not to commit blasphemy, but I can't get through to them. I try to tell them the News, but they are not interested. They are often indifferent and….blinded by the world and ignorant of the faith…it seems like an exercise in futility.

We often feel outnumbered…overwhelmed…by the horrors of the sins. We look at it and weep for mankind. I used to have trouble the fewness of the saved. NOW… it is painfully clear.
We deserve to go to Hell for what we have done to Him.
At the moment I feel… numb… yet at peace. I could be shot in the chest…yet I would be..indifferent. i don't really enjoy being in the world anymore. I long for God.
I long for the world to be kindled.

It is A CIRCUS!?….
Pic related…How I am feeling right about now
This is INSANITY!!!….
It is THIS kind of stuff like this that makes me wonder why bother?
I WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN BAPTIZED ON EASTER! I WAS ALL EXCITED FOR BEING BAPTIZED. BUT PEOPLE HAD TO WORRY ABOUT SELF PRESERVATION OVER THEIR VERY. IMMORTAL SOUL.
THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS I BECAME A MISANTHROPE. I DID NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH THIS…nonsense. I should be happy to get to Church, INSTEAD I am ENRAGED by the FOOLISHNESS of a few.
":but anon people could die"
"YEAH? AND PEOPLE COULD GO STRAIGHT TO HELL IF THEY DIE IN A STATE A MORTAL SIN. NO? THAN STOP BEING A FOOLISH COWARD!!!
I CANNOT comprehend how He has not annihilated….

I did not say that was the issue. It was supposed to be PERFECT. Baptized on Holy Saturday, Arise a new man on the Day of Our Lords resurrection, a New Adam… an adopted Son of God. Now… I am likely going to be required to wear a FACE MASK of all things, for my baptism, barely anyone is likely going to watch, other than a few in. I can in a way
understand why some women make a big deal of weddings, in a sense. It is symbolic of a new beginning, a new chapter in life. A new Spring. But my spring will include hand sanitizer., and social distancing. Pathetic >:(

It is how people are blinded to sin and the horrors thereof. I often watch as people quickly take off before even the closing prayers. They don't even give him thanksgiving for being so good and merciful. It shows the eminence of mankind, how many are ONLY interested in themselves and only want to hear about themselves. I don't want to hear about myself…BECAUSE I AM NOT THAT INTERESTING. I want to hear about HIM, NOT ME. WE are NOTHING…compared to almighty God, and people seem so….oblivious to that fact. I am only a simple creature, compared to the Lord
I am on adifferent browser if you are wondering.
