>Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves on Thursday condemned a church fire that's being investigated as an arson. First Pentecostal Church in Holly Springs burned on Wednesday, about a month after it filed a lawsuit challenging city restrictions on gatherings amid the coronavirus pandemic.

>News outlets reported that investigators from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office found graffiti in the church parking lot that read: “Bet you stay home now you hypokrites.”

>Pastor Jerry Waldrop said he and other church leaders have no idea who might have set the fire or left the graffiti.

>The church sued the city of Holly Springs in April, alleging police officers had disrupted a church Bible study and Easter service. Holly Springs City Attorney Shirley Byers said nearly 40 worshipers inside the church building were not practicing social distancing on April 10 when a violation citation was issued for the church.

I doubt. It's lukewarms to blame, as usual.

Listen to this quote:

>Christianity is about life, not risking death for the sake of spirituality

Merely sharing the Gospel could lead someone to death in the first centuries and even today elsewhere. The only reason this idiot even heard of Christ is because this is not true.

A Christian does not fear death, for where is its sting?

We need more info. I'm suspicious of what happened. The graffiti leads me to believe it might be a false flag, especially since it was misspelled.

Is it "progressive" christianity?

If you were Christian at all, you'd at least still see some measure of brotherhood and not revel in so much destruction and wanton theft (the arsonist didn't own this building. He had no right to take it for his own and destroy it).

Pentecostals aren't heretics by any usual measure of doctrine, as if they were Mormons or something. Especially these oldschool Pentecostals. They're not even "oneness" Pentecostals. They're trinitarian. Their only difference is that they don't believe in a cessation of spiritual gifts. Cessation is a legacy of the Roman church, if anything, where they destroyed Montanists lives and called Tertullian a heretic - one of the most based apologists of Pre-Nicene Christianity.

Also, reminder that the same people who dismissed spiritual gifts were happy to give incredible spiritual gifts and tall tales to individuals, and then crown them practically as demi-gods to worship (under the guise of prayer to "saints"). They would suppress the entirety of church, and make you bend down in subservience to the few, and worship other gods.

And any Protestant (like Calvinists) who regurgitates this Roman legacy without any healthy examination is even more pathetic. You're not "reforming" anything if you just repeat much of the same Roman nonsense.

>Cessation is a legacy of the Roman church

No, it's a biblical doctrine. Roman catholics aren't cessationists, if anything it's the other way around.

Cessationism is a biblical doctrine in the same way worshipping Mary is doctrine.
