don't worry about it until you have a regular sacramental life, start with the basics first like a catechism.

It's proof of the corruption in Rome and her not being a monolith of historic Catholic doctrine.

Why does Vatican 2 concern the Southern Baptists?

How did this become an opportunity to show that Southern Baptists hate Catholics? The Southern Baptists hated Catholics before Vatican 2 (KKK and all that) and they hate Catholics now.

My point was that SB's hated catholics before and after Vatican 2.

To come to a thread about Vatican 2 just to claim Catholics are corrupt, as if protestants are pure and don't sin, and without evidence, is contrary to scripture.

Then this post….

This is a thread about Vatican 2 and it's implications to the Catholic church. This is the problem is that ever catholic thread becomes a Catholic hate thread with protestants throwing insults at the posters.

Can we please stop this?

I mean, these protestant hate posters… Vatican 2 was about saying you protestants aren't going to hell and that some of you may be part of the Church established by our Lord.

Then you come here with nothing to share but Catholic hate. Vatican 2 extends the hand of Ecumenism to you, and you return with lies and hate.

If you want an honest answer, it's a bit too late. I think Protestants and Catholics would have resolved much more things if it had been done by the 17th or 18th century. But late 20th is pushing it. By that point, Protestants lost ties with old world/Catholic history and struck out on their own fully. Baptists in particular are a denomination almost completely devoid of ties and see no "distant" brotherhood whatsoever. Catholics had plenty of chances with Lutherans/Anglicans/Calvinists who simply saw themselves as reformers and were closer in spirit. But the longer any peace was postponed, the more Protestants got radicalized. Now there's little hope. You really shouldn't be surprised.

That's because they have always been against Biblical baptism, calling the practicers of it "anabaptists" and making this a crime with the death penalty. Way back in A.D. 405 and 413 they passed those laws.

Reference: See Imperatoris Theodosii codex: Book 16, Title 6 under laws 16.6.4 and 16.6.6. "No person shall resort to the crime of rebaptizing," etc.

The problem was and still is, it's not rebaptizing, but rather their infant baptisms were not actual baptism at all. So anyone who joins the church has to be baptized into it, this gets the accusation of "rebaptism" and that's just how history unfolded.

Back on thread topic, nowadays they have all kinds of bizarre doctrine such as that they worship the same false god as the Muslims and that Catholicism is the younger brother of Judaism. From this we see they have drifted very far from the truth of God. He is not a unitarian god but God in three persons and sacred, revealed unto us by his Word.

Yes, the change came about in Vatican 2, when they changed Church teaching from you have to take part in the same sacraments and follow the catholic church, to "people of God" and other sacraments are just as good.

How can there be more than one teaching of the Lord Jesus Christ? There can't. The Lord is Perfect. Variation implies imperfection.

And they've gone so far as to drag in pagan religions with their false equivalency. God told us not to do this in the first commandment.

Which is why I say to disregard everything written after 1958, we knew it was good under Pope Pius XII.

Then this is the last place you should go. Like the other anon said, start small. If youre a part of some parish, ask your priest for some material.
