I see some people say that Jesus actually had black skin. Are they right?

Brass being burned isn't like this.

Bait worth discussing
1) David was ruddy
2) Jesus was in the line of David
therefore
3) The incarnated Jesus was ruddy
4) Black Africans can not be ruddy
therefore
5) Jesus incarnated did not resemble a black African
>1 Sam 17:42 And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance.

Literally no one with any anthropological or biblical credibility says Palestinian Jews were/are black (remember, the same people who say this about Jews in the bible STILL say blacks are the real Jews). This is pseudo-science that has come out of nothing but bitterness from African-Americans specifically (not Africans.. just African Americans). I sympathize somewhat on what would make people so bitter that they created an entirely new mythology rather than embracing the beauty of their own history, but it's more of a psychological issue than a matter of scholarship.

Also, for the record, some of the very same crowd has taken to appropriating every culture. It's not exclusive to Israel. They even say Shakespeare, Beethoven, all of the Egyptians, and Abraham Lincoln were secretly black.. and there's a conspiracy to "white wash" (or "Arab wash" in the case of the Middle East) them to hide the "truth" that Blacks have done all of the great accomplishments in history. It's all a giant hoax to prop up the White Devil and trick the black man that he didn't write Hamlet.
About the only people they don't care to steal from are Native Americans.

Pontius Pilate described Jesus as fair haired. I see no reason for Pilate to lie.
I don't care what he looked like.
Such discussions as this are pointless.

By my reasoning, that account (if it be the one given here: http://www.thenazareneway.com/likeness_of_our_saviour.htm) is suspect. For one, I am distrustful of its provenance. It is commonly circulated, surely, but that it comes from "The Congressional Library in Washington" remains to be seen.
As well, though it was perhaps possible, I am doubtful that Pilate would have considered "golden colored hair" as giving Christ a "celestial aspect". After all, the predominant ideal of beauty in the roman empire was black hair and tan skin, like that of a roman. Fair hair and fair skin would indicate a barbarian. There is some evidence that fair hair may have been in fashion in the first century BC, but I hardly think that a recent fashion would elicit the apellation "celestial", less still for we know that the roman gods had black or brown hair. I admit that Pilate may not have held this belief, or had been so stricken by our Lord so as to describe him thusly regardless, but the incongruity of his statement, the doubtfulness of the source, and the eagerness of some white Christians to give historical credence to a white Christ leads me to be skeptical of the whole letter.

I have also heard the brass in furnace argument. It’s only credible for desperate black people. They show a piece of brass in an open tongue of flame and the smoke that comes from the flame covers the brass with black sute. I can do the same misleading visual aid with a zippo lighter and my finger and turn it black and I guess I now have the right to use the word n!gg3r.
Black people, a furnace is an oven of fire, not an open flame. In a furnace brass turns bright orange as well as all metals. We know your trying desperately to prove your the chosen race, that was the Jews till they killed Jesus and now every single one of us can be the chosen race as long as we accept Jesus and make Him the Lord of our lives. I hope you can accept this one day, and hang up your mortal kombat outfits, and stop finding new ways to be racist.

If anyone’s interested I posted the apocrypha “wisdom of Solomon” book in the “who is wisdom” thread and in it it explains the angel of death that killed all first borns in Egypt as a being whose feet were on the earth and head in the heavens, same being discussed in revelations that were discussing. It seems to be A being that delivers the final judgement, the destroyer.

>>833647 No Jesus was most likely brown, maybe white (since he lived in the Roman empire there might have been some race mixing). The idea he was black is a myth made up by insecure blacks who want to steal other peoples history.

Jesus and his followers the Apostles were from the same general area and probably looked similarly race-wise. There were a lot of Hellenic and Roman people too due to colonization. Now there is a character who lived in the apostolic times named Simeon the Black
>Acts 13:1 In the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul.
While his title is spelled and pronounced like the slut, it's just Latin for black, indicating his dark complexion or African descend. Now why would there be a distinction made for his skin color, but not for any other figures from that time? You'd think if the Jews (as well as Greeks and Romans, who are also called black by some Americans today) all shared his dark features, why would he be regarded as someone who's different?
That's my reasoning for this question.

Neither
Firstly, there's no reason not to assume the description of Jesus in revelations was not literal when taking into consideration the rest of revelations.
Secondly, it's not how He appeared on earth.
Finally, it describes only His feet being this way.
Would it be a problem if He was black? No, but the truth matters. He wasn't European either.
