I have two question to all christians who acess chans:

-if expose yourself to sin it's a sin in itself, why you keep acessing sites like these?

-if you dons't acess chans with nsfw, can you recommend some boards?

As the most part of the western mans, I have problems with masturbation, but i don't want to stop acessing image boards.

Why is talking politics a sin? I mean, you can sin while doing it but just using chans for political discussion is not a sin in and of itself.

Talking politics is not a sin, but exposing yourself to tempting images can be.

Jesus condemned the lust in our hearts. It doesn't mean the things we see automatically give rise to lust. That's on our own heads. Just the mere sight of a thing isn't the sin itself.

Consider this: When Satan tempted Jesus in the desert to command a stone to become bread, did just the mere suggestion and image of bread brought up in that moment make Jesus guilty? Of course not! What made him righteous is that he felt no temptation towards it. He simply moved past the the suggestion and countered Satan. You can do the same, if you encounter a suggestive image.

It's definitely wise to take oneself out of harmful situations though. After all, we are told to pray "lead us not into temptation". If we pray this, it would also follow that it's just as important that we don't willingly put ourselves into temptation as well. But that differs for everyone. We all have weaknesses. For some, this may be it, and it would probably be best to not put themselves in this situation at all. For others, they could ignore this easily, but be tempted with something else. So it's hard to say that there should be one rule for all Christians. We should just try to encourage each other, where each particular person is at, in my opinion.

We should also remember not to associate with heavy sinners as the kind you would find on sites like these. They have a bad influence on you, with their words and the images they post

True enough. My personal temptation is getting too angry and being more nasty in my responses than I should be. I guess you could call that influence, but indirectly. But I tend to stay away from subjects that get me too angry. I'm mostly at /christian/ or /v/ which are fairly calm places.

St. Augustine said something like adding things onto a prince doesn't make him less of a prince but suppressing his nature does. I've been on the chans for years and see people talking about drugs and posting porn every day but I still never do drugs and if I see a woman being sexualized I immediately scroll past. But if someone were to suppress my natural aversion to sin using creepy mind break stuff like Clockwork Orange that might screw me up pretty hard. That's probably why a sexually traumatic thing like being raped turns kids into faggots.

Not even this place is totally safe. Any online forum will have nasty comments, totally unlike the kinds of conversations that people will have face-to-face. Just today I was thinking about how beneficial it would be to stay away from all or most comments, whether it be chan or youtube, Twitter, whatever. I have a bad habit of getting drawn into arguments, especially when people are so prideful and aggressive in their opinion. I just get a huge urge to point out their flaws in reasoning and of course they never yield, and only get more emotional and stubborn, and it has an impact on me. I finally realize the vanity of talking to such people, but the next day I fall into the same trap.

My conscience has been weighed down, thinking about the unhealthy online interactions, as well as the many images we see. How exactly does the brain respond to seeing people all the time through our screens? It may be hindering our urge to socialize with people in real life. I think there’s something evil about seeing so many faces in such a cheap, artificial way. I don’t wanna see all these pretty girls and models, I wanna see girls for real, and I want to feel something! I don’t want to compare them with millions of girls around the world. I don’t want to compare my friends with cooler and smarter people I see online. I don’t want to listen to the endless talk online when I can listen to someone that’s real and talk with them.

And there’s something evil about video games, too, as they simulate work, replacing our need to do actual work, the kind that is fruitful and fulfilling. There’s so much wrong with technology and the internet, but this just may be Kaczynski and Baudrillard having their influence on me. Still, I like to imagine that we’re surrounded by the graven images that God warned us about.

You're definitely right about wanting to stay offline. I pretty much ceased all social media years ago (I mean, like 2008 was the last time I was on facebook). I still have Youtube, but just a handful of comments. I don't really use the social media aspect of it. Here, I only peruse the boards every week or so. I'd suggest trying to do that yourself. It will help you take it less seriously, while not dismissing a decent conversation every once in awhile (like this one).

For me, one of the biggest effects is on my thought pattern. I’ve been conditioned into believing certain things, or thinking about x when confronted with y. And I’m not sure, but it’s possible that 4chan (and maybe anime also, though I’ve only seen ~20 shows) turned me into a pedophile of sorts. It got to the point where going to /tv/ felt like a drug to me (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, google “/tv/ television and film,” at your own discretion). But before even spending time there, I somehow became infatuated with a girl in real life, a girl that I should not be interested in. I had no sexual attraction to her, thankfully, but I had the strongest reaction deep within the heart like never before. I couldn’t take my eyes off her, couldn’t think of anything else. And I still think about her all the time, but no other girls. I don’t know if this stuff will go away, but I can’t go to that place any more, lest I develop sexual urges. I can’t even go to /lit/ because of the occasional Lolita threads. I can’t go to /fit/ for advice because there’s always coffee images, etc. But everywhere there are the same mind viruses, toxic memes, hatred, many bad things. For the past month or so I’ve only been coming here and /wsr/

Do you have one to recommend? I would like one that blocks sexual images but nothing else.

I actually feel the opposite, that seeing people so wrong and obstinate and deliberately not engaging is therapeutic. It's an exercise in controlling my own emotion.

Yeah seeing all of the false accusations being hurled at true believers helps me to understand that people simply don't get it, they've largely been lied to. When I see them accusing me of all kinds of things I truly never believed or said, I realize how little awareness many of these poor lost children actually have. It only makes me more opposed to the ones who I know are lying to them regarding these things.

not him, but if you use 4chan you can install 4chan x on your browser and it has an option called "werk tyme" which gets rid of all images. you may be able to get 4chan x to work here with some tinkering.

>-if expose yourself to sin it's a sin in itself, why you keep acessing sites like these?

The whole world is full of sin. I can't go to the grocery store without seeing women in immodest yoga pants. Being exposed to sin is why we're here on Earth, we are given free will and exposed to the choices of others.

I grew up thinking that we, as a people must have fallen into sin and were unworthy of the promises of Christ and that the Gates of Hell prevailed against the church Christ established. It was on half chan /pol/ that I found out that this wasn't true, that a small part of the Church survived.

> I have problems with masturbation, but i don't want to stop acessing image boards.

Open the board, hide all the threads with immodest images, and proceed as normal.

Both /pol/s, half and infinity, have been overrun with JIDF posters with their division, hate and sex bait tho'. Not much left since 2016.
