c05427 No.831952
I would like to make a page on the new wiki that links the best concise non-strawman arguments for the hot topics around here.
What are the 10 most common arguments here?
>Is the apocrypha canon?
>Was Peter the rock upon which the church was built?
>Is salvation sola fide?
>Have miraculous gifts ceased?
>Is the shroud legitimate?
>Is paedobaptism Biblical?
>Sedevacantism?
>Primacy of the bishop of Rome?
Don't argue these questions ITT, but share what you think should be included in the list and any sources that you think make the best arguments
For example, this is a concise article from the protestant perspective against the apocrypha as scripture https://www.blueletterbible.org/faq/don_stewart/don_stewart_395.cfm

Explain how the witchcraft of Tobit is actually something we should practice.
Yeah explain how Galatians 2:8 pertains to Peter being the pope.
Explain how people who accept Jesus right before their deaths are actually screwed because they can't perform any works.
What you're proposing can't be concluded by simply reading the Bible, so make a section on how we need others to interpret it for us because apparently Holy Spirit residing in us isn't enough.

Oh yeah, also explain how Jesus is stated as the head of the church in scripture, but actually that's wrong because it's the pope.

This is a Catholic board not a Christian board. So the answer is because some wise-in-their-own-eyes elder or scholar said so.

Like this loser here, can't put it in his own words or find applicable Bible verses. Just go listen to what the 'experts' say and ignore the Bible verses about:
> Not worshipping Mary
> Not calling any man Father as a title
> Not wearing fancy robes as a status symbol
> Not making graven images and offering incense/praying to them (Marian processions)
> A million other things the Catholic intentionally do against Christ
> Having priests be married with children

Mary worship and idolatry. You can call it 'reverence', but you're still praying to bathtub statues and have marian processions with incense and chanting. It's goddess worship and you're delusional if you think otherwise.
Your leaders are in clear violation of scripture.
> Timothy 3: Bishop must have 1 wife, and have children
Not a celibate pederast, who sets themselves as holier than others.
Romans 1 fully covers your folly:
> 22: Professing themselves wise, they became fools (Encyclicals and other nonsense against scripture)
> 23: and changed the glory of uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man (Your pictures of saints, Mary, and hippy 'Jesus' that you bow to)
> 24: God gave them up to uncleanness through lusts (All the pedo faggotry)
> 25: Who changed the word of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator (Listen to your Popes and Bishops, it used to be forbidden to even read the Bible in Catholicism)
> For this cause God gave them up to vile affections (Yep, pederastry)
Also the concept of a pope is directly against scripture:
> Matt 23:9 Do not call anyone on earth 'father', for you have one Father, in heaven
To the Catholics on this board you have a very clear choice. Believe in Jesus and the Holy Spirit, read your Bible and ask humbly for guidance. Or follow a bunch of fallible men using religion as a political tool.

To be fair, we do have to deal with their repeated lies which unfairly ignore scripture.
However, the fact is that this is off topic.

>>Is paedobaptism Biblical?
No, babies can't repent or believe. Sprinkling water on a baby's head isn't a baptism either, it's a pagan ritual. Before baptism, you must repent and believe otherwise you're just a wet sinner. Baptism is also a full-body immersion, not sprinkling of water, to symbolize death burial and resurrection.
Acts 2:38
>Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 8:36-38
>And as they went on [their] way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, [here is] water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
Matthew 3:7-8
>But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
