Why is Europe a poor, overly religious, violent, obese, dumb backwater with school shootings in a McDonald's in a Walmart where you can purchase guns to stop said shooting? I don't understand why Europeans are like this as you would expect their Christianity to ensure they would all be good and not engage in sin and vice.

sounds like you're describing USA. But the secret of middle-east is that there is no distinction of religion and state (sharia) and the other countries are homogeneous even if religion and state are seperated there is a de facto unity of culture that promotes the cultivation of virtue (think of Confucianism or Hindu Caste system).
