I wish depictions of Christ weren't allowed on this board.

Or were more subtle and vague.

I don't understand your question. You mean like fictional portrayals that place the gospel in modern times? They can be interesting. I remember when I first became a Christian, there was a popular book that grabbed my attention called Joshua, where Jesus lived in a small town as an everyday carpenter. It was written by a Catholic priest, but I remember it being pretty popular back in the day.

Not that it matter what He looked like but here are some descriptions of Our Lord made by Pontius Pilate and others:

I think the European painters tried to make Jesus appear as described in the old text.

Ethiopian icons depict Jesus as having black skin. It really doesn't matter what he looked like, but what he taught is most important.

>WE WUZ

Jesus was a visibly unremarkable Jew. Not a Jew in today's use of it though. He wasn't extraordinarily attractive so people would be attracted to his words, not his appearance. Can't find the verses on it right now though. Most articles talk about his appearance when he returns. Also, most depictions of Jesus in the West are one of the Pope's homosexual illegitimate children Cesare Borgia

>I wish depictions of Christ weren't allowed on this board.

Yeah, but what can you do about it?

>Exodus 20

>4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

>5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

People weren't merely attracted to his words thought. Some thought he was a real military/rebellious threat and took the Kingdom of God in purely material terms. Perhaps even one of his followers wrongly latched on to that aspect (Judas). As for the Borgias, you do know that icons of Christ existed centuries before the Borgias, right? Like literally a thousand years before the Borgias. Please, go on and hate the Borgias and papal pomp all you want, but not everything revolves around popes. Stop giving them so much power.

>Some thought he was a real military/rebellious threat and took the Kingdom of God in purely material terms.

That's only because they didn't understand Biblical prophecy which Jesus fulfilled.

>As for the Borgias, you do know that icons of Christ existed centuries before the Borgias, right?

So what?

>Please, go on and hate the Borgias and papal pomp all you want, but not everything revolves around popes. Stop giving them so much power.

Why are you trying to rationalize your graven images of a literal homosexual bastard child?

Calling out papal rome for their actions doesn't give them power, it's shedding light on their darkness, it's exposing their evil.

So, the when the Catholics took the King James Bible and converted it into Latin, they took out the commandment against graven images.

To prove this you made a graven image of the tablet of the 10 commandments.

I remember seeing this move, Ben Hurr, a long time ago, way before I saw Gibson's "the Passion of the Christ".

So, I bought it because of Lockdown stuff to watch that isn't degenerate.

Wow.

It started and I thought "MGM made this? Jews? I didn't think they'd allow it!"

Oh, the Jews allowed it alright! Every bad guy in Ben Hurr is a Roman. The Jews are all good and peaceful. The Roman's killed Christ, no mention of the Jew's part in that. Even Christ held the pharasees more responsible than Pontius Pilate. It appears to me that Pilate was doing the morality of least harm; either I kill this innocent man or many people will die, both Roman and Jew, in a Jewish uprising.

It does give them power. The only people who care about the Borgias are the Borgias and people like you. Stop it. You're not exposing anything.

I agree that people didn't understand obviously, but the point is that Jesus had immense charisma. He wasn't "unremarkable". You are either born with that type of charisma or not. The kind of charisma that made people see a King. Even the ones who hated him were puzzled. He made young and old, powerful and peasant alike, know that weren't dealing with an unremarkable person.

You're retarded. Jesus and God called out the Catholic Church, you just don't understand the Bible. Giving them power would be refusing to talk about them OR BEING A COWARD CATLICK CULTIST LIKE YOU demanding people not talk about it.

Go to hell.

I've watched that film multiple times and it doesn't try to say the Romans or the Jews killed Christ. It barely even covers that. Ben-Hur is historical fiction, not a passion play.

You shouldn't start downplaying Pontius Pilate's crimes just because you hate the Jews, either. He was known to be a hardcore pagan degenerate who hated Jews out of spite. He didn't care about Jesus or His innocence.

Bible is pretty clear on Pontius Pilate: he found no fault with Christ (John 18:38 John 19:4-15) and the jews threatened to lie to Caesar that Pilate didn't Obey Caesar and the Jews were going to revolt, which Caesar absolutely did not want given the state of things in Rome.

Jesus even says that Pilate committed the lessor sin. John 18:11. Pilate pleaded with the Jews 3 times that Christ had no fault!

It's not hating Jews to read the Bible and recall the events scripture tell us lead to the Crucifixion of our Lord'
