Is imageboard culture sinful? I'm sure a lot of you have noticed the sexually explicit anomie adds even on this board. Just go to the /b/ on one of the other numerous chans and you might stumble into some form of CP. Are we being hypocritical? I am not questioning anyone's sincerity here but lately it's been weighing on my conscious and I need guidance.

Tell that Jesus. He said we should love our enemies. It's an extremely difficult command (perhaps the most difficult), but I'm not going to say it's wrong. And it doesn't mean you need to stop saying the truth. You can say it indeed. We just need to check ourselves from being too caustic. When the martyrs under the Romans were being tortured to death, they still loved their enemies and never ceased hoping for them. Some saints were flailed or boiled or eaten alive and they still didn't curse anyone. If you're Protestant, then even William Tyndale graciously said "Lord, open the king of England's eyes" before he was executed.
You and I are dealing with an enemy far more tame, that can't even physically touch us 90% of the time. The least we could do is laugh about it. This is no trial at all. It's a joke. Don't get too worked up over it or sink to the level expected in these places. You're called to be a light, and some of these people are just one step from Christ.

As for the original point, I think there's walking in wisdom and not. Part of walking in wisdom is knowing your limits. Does this create lust in you? Is it an issue? If so, then pray God helps you. Ask him for guidance. Maybe he's leading you elsewhere?

Looking at porn encourages the actors in porn to sin. Being an accessory to sin is also sin, just as being an accessory to robbing a bank is also a crime.
Father gets on my butt in confession even for playing video games that have digital characters that don't exist in real life. I don't fap to it, I'm not married in the eyes of the church, but he says the sin is mortal and not venial. I can't figure out who've I've sinned against or whom I've paid to promote sin. But he's the apostle who's can forgive or retain sins, so he's right. Just because I'm too stupid to figure it out doesn't make me right.

I have no idea what the official distinction between venial and mortal sin is according to the catholic church.
Such causes me to lose hope. Sadly, I know that the loss of hope is a mortal sin.
