Paul says God's law is written on our hearts and in the afterlife we will judged accordingly and that got me thinking "Why would we evolve to have something spiritual written on our hearts when all natural selection cares about is having physical babies?" But just now I realized if you become a Saint (go to heaven) you probably now have the authority to guide your own living descendants to be fruitful and multiply. It's like the Chinese idea of ancestors looking out for you except only those with noble ancestors who went to heaven have the advantage of that divine assistance.

Natural selection is false. Just propaganda for the British empire at the time, to use pseudo science that explained why they were at the apex and could colonize. We were created in the image of God, not natural selection. And though we are fallen, we have a sense of the law written on our hearts because God created us. In addition to that, all humans share Noahide laws/culture and have ancient memories that have handed down lessons from that as well.

>Paul says God's law is written on our hearts and in the afterlife we will judged accordingly and that got me thinking

It's also said that none do good, all have fallen short, and none seek God. The pagans will basically be condemned by their conscience…unless God redeems them.

Evolution implies there was a fall before the fall, that decay, disease and death were always prevalent. Why would God call such a situation 'good' in Genesis? It's not hard to present the ancients with evolutionary models, of animals turning into other animals, the ancient Greeks and indians already had ideas of reincarnation and perpetual change overtime. I'm sure the Hebrews would easily understand "theistic evolution" if it had any truth to it. But do you really think it's true??

Yes, having Christian parents is beneficial to a person's reception of the gospel because of their influence.

That is something different from Paul's discussion of the law on the heart. He's saying everyone is created with a basic moral knowledge from God.

This passage is not compatible with the theory of evolution as an origin of man so I'm not sure why you're reading that into it.

Sadly, even Christians are indoctrinated with the evolutionary paradigm. I don't mean to insult the OP by saying that, since it's partly automatic on most people's part. We're linguistically programmed us into it. People use "evolve" for all manner of circumstances now, when that wasn't even a word until the 17th century or so.

It's not an inappropriate term in the right use

Even that use seems pretty loaded ("micro-evolution"). It's nothing more than breeding superficial traits (facial features, dog breeds, etc).
