Our Catholic Bibles are too heavy, they contain all the books. We bring our missals, tho, which have the relevant Gospel and Epistle for the Mass.
Catholics use more than just the Bible: there's the teachings of the apostles, the church councils, and God's creation as well.
Our Church requires discipline of mind and body. It is a narrow path, I agree, and the sacrament of confession helps us to avoid sin; we can't dismiss our sins with a nod to the Lord and then forget about it.
