I know about malaria, I took pills to prevent getting it this summer and two friends did. What do you think will happen when this hits India or Africa? It'll be far worse. Those places are bad.
Also, the happenings described in the book of revelation will be bad, yes, but it also shows the problems which arise getting progressively worse. So, this is simply the beginning.
Also, ask God to see people as he sees them. Additionally, look at how merciful he's been to you and it gets easier.

A couple of weeks ago, I was also somewhat confused about the panic that has come about, much like what you said. There are few-or-no things in this world that deserve such response as this has received!
Whatever we can point our fingers as to what caused the virus and the emotional/legal/economic reactions that have also come about, one thing has come to my attention: God appears to be working through the disease and associated hysteria (nonetheless?). Just keep following God.

I think we're as close as any of us are going to get in our lifetimes to seeing a biblical plague. I've noticed that traditionally Orthodox countries seem to have less infections, but then so too does staunchly Protestant Africa.
in the end though, I absolutely think this was sent by God to punish the modern world while at the same time I also think the response to it is an overreaction. But it's making the plague all the worse, so the reaction could also be part of God's plan.

No my friend it is not divine retribution. Remember that God the father loves us. Remember the rainbow, whereby God promises to never again destroy the world. How do we know we are loved by God? Because he sends down something special and dear to him, dearest of all, his son, Jesus, that we should know him by the sign. God is love not punishment. This virus is just that— a virus. And like all viruses, it can be solved with proper vaccination and other precautions. My mother might have it. No flu like symptoms, just a dry cough she's had for a week. Only now did it get worse; and she's not feeling good guys.
