Quarterly reminder that low effort posts like this often turn out to be false flags.

It is a basic fact though that latin is not a biblical language.

well, in a spiritual sense, Latin /is/ perhaps a biblical language. Consider, for instance, that the sign posted on the cross was written in three languages–latin is one of them. And, a spiritual question is perhaps: why 3, and why those three?

… and it's all for lame reasons: Catholics used the wrong universal language to spread God's word through the Bible!

Sometimes, I think it's the Catholic belief that you should stop sinning and just can't say "Jesus Jesus!" as the magic password to heaven that triggers or Protestant Brothers.

God bless you, Op. I'll pray for you.

Well, they did, it was the wrong language in every case where it was not language of that nation

>you should stop sinning and just can't say "Jesus Jesus!" as the magic password to heaven

Yikes. I hope you at least realize what a shameful caricature of our doctrine that is

Ecclesiastical Latin, being a dead language, has fix definitions and does not change. It is perfect for disseminating the Word of God to the priests.

What you suggest is that they create schisms by playing the language telephone game.

>>828509

It is literally right out of the Bible. This whole "no good works" thing is misunderstood by protestants. You can't sin. Jesus asked you not to, don't go telling people that if you say "Jesus" that you can sin and still be saved.

>Ecclesiastical Latin, being a dead language, has fix definitions and does not change

That is not true. Dead language means that it has no native speakers, and that is all. It is a language that is spoken every single day, and as such changes with the needs of the times just like every other language. Do you think they had words for computers and airplanes 1,000 years ago? Modern Latin does.

>It is perfect for disseminating the Word of God

The perfect language for disseminating the word of God is the one that the people understand

>What you suggest is that they create schisms by playing the language telephone game

If giving people the word of God in their own language will cause them to break from you, I would say that is more a problem with you, than with their language.

>This whole "no good works" thing is misunderstood by protestants

I think what we’re seeing is that you are the one who misunderstands it

>You can't sin

And of course, we say that. Why do you choose to pretend like you know what Protestants believe? Here is what I propose: either learn for yourself what we believe from us, or do not argue against Protestantism.

English is a living language; that's why many folks can't understand Shakespeare or the KJB.

Latin doesn't change since no one speaks it.

>Why do you choose to pretend like you know what Protestants believe?

Why do you pretend to know what Catholics believe? Even when we tell you we don't worship Mary, you say "nope! You do!"

If we thought Mary was god, we would tell you.

>either learn for yourself what we believe from us, or do not argue against Protestantism.

There's hundreds of protestant denominations that range from nearly Catholic, to sodomites. I have no idea what your particular heretical beliefs are, and I suspect that even if I got it right, you'd resort to this often used denial of your particular denomination.

But your advice, you should take it.

Did Latin have words that meant computer or airplane 1,000 years ago, yes or no? Do Roman Catholic priests speak Latin every single day, yes or no?

>Why do you pretend to know what Catholics believe? Even when we tell you we don't worship Mary, you say "nope! You do!"

>If we thought Mary was god, we would tell you.

A beautiful red herring, well fallacied.

English is a very alive language whose definitions changes constantly. Same with Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic.

Latin, on the other hand, is deader than disco. The definitions don't change because large populations of people don't speak it on a regular basis. This is why medical and science terms are in Latin.

Combine this with the fact Latin has cast out demons for thousands of years as well as performed Mass for thousands of years.

>latin isn't in the bible

So Jesus didn't die in Rome? You mean to tell me the romans wouldn't use latin to describe Jesus at all? Get real.

>but the Bible was written in greek!

Wrong. Biblical Hebrew and Greek are dead unchanging languages.

Okay, so now Catholics aren't "Biblical" because they disseminated the Bible Latin, which became a universal language in Europe for almost 2000 years.

It gets old, these logical fallacies.
