I could use some suggestions for this year, to be honest. I don't have much going on as of right now, but that creates an environment where something is able to be sacrificed without it being debilitating to my daily life. I primarily just go to work (no lunch breaks, so you have to eat stuff there) and play vidya on my PC at home. I occasionally read/write, but it's not often anymore.

In addition to following the old and true laws o Lent, I decided to give up crippled chan /pol/; I like it, it's probably often a venial sin…
Add a Daily prayer for the salvation and redemption of the Church. I say a rosary every day, this will be an additional prayer to Saint Micheal and to Saint Joseph.
And of course, put trolls like 8aee99 on ignore.

Are they in communion with the Catholic church or do I need to go to confession now?
Interesting that there are days they don't do eggs. Much more… interesting abstinence laws. Just saying, gonna go boil up some eggs in a hour or so.

Sorry, forgot to say "Good Luck" but I'm not sure if that's a sin or not. It would be if they're not catholic. Father said some Orthodox were okay and some weren't. I think Greek Orthodox is okay!

1. Video games (was getting a lil crazy with some Elder Scrolls classics)
2. Political websites. All of them. Anything news and poltics, including 4chan and any politic/news YouTube channels.
I really want to see if consuming political content is harming my ability to love others.

Since when do Southern Baptists observe the liturgical calendar outside of Christmas and Easter…?

It can, especially on here. Take a sabbatical every so often to detox. More than once a year. It's good for you.

Definitely no, they're just the Greek branch of the Orthodox Church but in America. I don't think it's sinful but you should definitely ask your Father about fasting the Orthodox way.

It absolutely does. After getting off /pol/ for a few months and spending more time around others (particularly Catholics), I grew more charitable as a result. It's not a night and day difference, but /pol/ can definitely be a bad influence (particularly when it comes to racism and porn).

Reminder that recognizing racial differences and affirming biblical categories for different people groups are not sin. Reminder that this wouldn't have been a controversial statement even 70 years ago.
The toxicity, demoralization shilling, and the lack of positivity are the problems. The lack of balance, because it's a constant battleground, is what makes it so draining.

Well of course, but those aren't really the same thing. I mean the classical liturgical calendar.

The problem is racial discussions in these areas rely on Darwinism and genetics to support their worldview. Every proponent is just showing themselves to be products of their own pozzed modernist education. It completely falls apart for anyone who believes in one God, who created (not evolved) mankind, and loved the whole world enough to come down here and sacrifice himself.

I see you've never looked into this topic. That's the argument of some who are attempting to explain the differences, but not everyone tries to. There are plenty of preachers in more rural areas that recognize racial differences and don't base them in Darwinian thought. They just acknowledge the differences and chalk them up to "because God made them that way." Again, 70 years ago my statement would not have been controversial to anybody. Modernism is the reason it has become controversial. Reminder that recognizing racial differences doesn't mean you're placing other races beyond the reach of salvation. I know the leftist programming runs deep, but question the basis of the accusations that arise in your heart about this matter.

I think denying God's creation and substituting your own belief as to how God should have gone about it is unchristian.

Nobody thought of racial differences the way /pol/ talks about it. Genetics are an entirely new paradigm of discussion on the matter. Mankind always applied heredity to animals and plants (at least in the short term/observable sense), but the biblical worldview would forbid thinking that about mankind. Mankind was the crown of God's creation, and given dominion over the earth. That this has escaped you just tells me that you still haven't escaped modernist paradigms yourself. It hasn't registered that we're created in the image of God or what that means.
Outside of that, even the so called adherents of the "Ham hypothesis" didn't base it on race either. Not in the modern usage of that word. It revolved around biblical curses and covenants (or lack thereof). Curses that become irrelevant when the Son of God and baptism comes into the picture. The only kind of so called "bible believers" who would dismiss the significance of baptism, and yet still relegate people under ancient curses, are heretics. They're effectively saying that the greatest blessing in history from the hand of Christ himself is worthless and can't overcome a drunken curse from Noah. I can't think of a dumber reason to burn in Hell over.

>Genetics are an entirely new paradigm of discussion on the matter.
Men have always understood the importance of bloodlines. Calling it "genetics" doesn't change anything.
>but the biblical worldview would forbid thinking that about mankind.
That's your foregone conclusion and is not historically or theologically accurate.
>That this has escaped you just tells me that you still haven't escaped modernist paradigms yourself.
It hasn't and that in no way supports what you're saying regardless. If race-denial isn't a modern concept, then why did the civil rights movement need to happen…?
>It hasn't registered that we're created in the image of God or what that means.
Please define "the image of God" for me and explain its significance here.
>I can't think of a dumber reason to burn in Hell over.
TIL race-denial is a fundamental Christian doctrine now?
