Temptation affects all human beings, not just catholic priests. If one is 4% and another is 6% I don't think it makes a big difference, it's not that this is a race and as long as you "win" everything's fine.

I didn't understand your previous comment at all, when you said that those barriers should be broken I thought you meant that the absence of female priests and the prohibition of gay marriages should be changed; that is, that both should be allowed.

There's an analogy my father told me once, if I remember correctly it was by Fulton Sheen (I might be very wrong though, but who said it is ultimately irrelevant) that goes something among the lines of "the worst thing isn't when you're lost, the worst thing is when you blame the map".
