There is this place in Kansas where traditional Catholics are moving.

I'm considering moving there, or someplace like it, and ditching things like the internet because they're bad for my Sanctifying grace.

How traditional is the SSPX?

Are there other Trad Catholic communities?

I want my daughter to grow up in a Catholic community. Even in middle school where I live, the student dress immodestly and the curriculum is a bit degenerate.

SSPX are just another in a long line of Protestants pretending to be Catholic to dupe believers. Don't fall for their lies.

yeah, thanks for your ironically comic contribution but my question was is there any other trad catholic communities centered around the Latin mass like St. Mary's in Kansas.

Home prices there doubled since the Catholics returned.

Most of these places seem quite expensive, not sure why other than demand for better communities.

SSPX aren't protestants, friend.

There are other TLM communities. The FSSP and the ICKSP are big here in America. As to where big communities of them are like in Kansas I do not know.

I hear there are communities like this in Louisiana and Texas, but where specifically I do not know.

Texas or Louisiana? Okay.

I know there is that SSPV parish in Norwood, Ohio.

I was hoping for a Catholic School. My experience with public schools is that they are dens of sin in teaching and community. I would like my daughter to attend school with based Catholic boys and not some sex crazed atheists.

What are your objections to the SSPX and the Latin Mass? I'm curious. Seems on most "Catholic" websites if the Latin mass is mentioned people respond with contempt. I don't get it. If the mass was Church Law in 1960, how can it be "Protestant" in 1980? Church teaching does not change.

Speaking of Protestants, I had no idea that 6 protestant Heretics took part in Vatican II. They didn't vote, but the Heretics had a voice.

"He invited other Christians outside the Catholic Church to send observers to the Council. Acceptances came from both the Eastern Orthodox Church and Protestant denominations as internal observers, but these observers did not cast votes in the approbation of the conciliar documents.[16][a]"

"Since the reforms surrounding the Second Vatican Council of 1962–1965, the Roman Catholic Church has referred to Protestant communities as "denominations", while reserving the term "church" for apostolic churches, including the Eastern Orthodox (see subsistit in and branch theory). But some non-denominational Christians[5] do not follow any particular branch, though sometimes regarded as Protestants."

Wow. The irony of calling the SSPX "protestants" would be funny if it was so utterly destructive to so many souls.

>What are your objections to the SSPX and the Latin Mass?

SSPX and the Latin Mass are mutually exclusive. SSPX is a Protestant organization, not in full communion with Rome. Rejecting the Church makes it Protestant. If you want the Latin Mass, there are plenty of churches that do it and it isn't "illegal", merely not the ordinary. All you have to do is ask your priest.

Though I do find it amusing that literally the only people who whine about the Latin Mass not being the ordinary are English speaking Americans.

If 8chan existed back in the day, you'd probably be crying and whining about the First Council of Nicaea too.

The Pope even said you can receive confession from the SSPX and it will be valid. That makes them far from Protestant. Heck, the SSPX love the Pope and adhere to Catholic dogma. The same could not be said of actual protestants.

Think about it this way, if the SSPX were protestants and did not care about what the Pope has to say about their congregation, they wouldn't be working with the Pope to patch up relations so they can be in full communion with the See of Peter. The SSPX can licity hear confessions and give absolution. The SSPX can licity perform a marriage (with permission from the local bishop). Administering the Eucharist is in a whole lotta gray areas but it is still valid.

I get it, you don't like them for whatever reason. But to say they are protestant is giving actual protestants way too much credit.

SSPX have no jurisdiction to preach even though they're valid I wouldn't take your theology from them uncritically, for instance they say you're not bound to attend novus ordo masses which is encouraging disobedience to the Church.

Novus ordo masses do things that violate the Church teaching established in the Council of Trent, things that the Unchanging Catholic Church said were sacrilege in the 1950s

Any thoughts on Father Jenkins and the SSPV?

According to their website, there are only 6 states and one Canadian province with a church you can attend. If what Father Jenkins said is true, then the Gates of Hell have prevailed, and we are in the End Times.

However, there are many valid masses still being offered. Even if "wicked" priest because they are subject to obedience of a heretic Pope and Novus Ordo Bishop, as long as the Priest was validly ordained and the Mass is given per the Catechism of Trent, then it's a valid mass.
