No matter what different answers you get, just know that the fact you got a tattoo in the past does not mean you will ultimately be condemned. I think we can all agree that, if it is a sin, it is a forgivable sin.
That being said there is no explicit prohibition against getting markings in your skin. The reason it is a sin in Leviticus is because it was done in false god, or ancestor worship. In other words, if it is done in the service of some other sin then it is wickedness. One example of a sinful use would be getting one out of pure egotistic vanity, or another self focused motive. If you get a tattoo because you think it'll help you sleep with more girls then it's sin.
But if you just get a cross, or some scripture on your arm to help you remember who you serve then its not sin.
Anyway, it doesn't matter even if you got some out of sinful motives in the past. Just follow Christ, trusting only in His ability to redeem you, and you will be forgiven.

Yeah, if you're not able to get it removed I would cover it up for the sake of others. Just think of it as a reminder never to return to sin.
2 Corinthians 12:7-9
(7) And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
(8) For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
(9) And he said unto me, "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness." Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

We aren't bound to the old covenant law but it's still gross and trashy and until a few decades ago was only used by gangs members

Tattoos are gross and are for gross people. Particularly fit for the warrior class, military, hard-people, gangbangers, lowlife, scum, slugs, shit-folk, sluts, and prostitutes. Tattoo is not good for cosmetics, but for ingroup signaling of previously mentioned groups.

What's wrong with "warrior class" and military? Sailors are also a group that stereotypically would have tattoos, but there is nothing wrong with being a sailor.

Pic related, a temple. If this is appropriate for a temple, why would a bit of ink be inherently (important word - particular image used, intention when choosing to get it, circumstances, etc. matter) inappropriate for it?

Sailors aren't exactly known to be the most moral bunch(swear like a sailor, loving booze and brothels, and gay sailor are stereotypes for a reason).
Tattoo loving grunts, either.
As a sidenote, certain christian groups(copts, balkan dhimmis, crusaders) also use tattoos as a testimony to Christ.
His point is that 90% of tattoo-loving communities are bad spiritual company.

Easy mode: remove the tattoo
Breadpilled mode: transform the tattoo in a way where it keeps elements of the tattoo but instead transforms the blasphemy into something that can glorify God.
From what I have seen from the painting, you could get an artist to transform the goat enough to look like Jesus and the women to be enjoying His company.
If you don't mind taking a picture of your tattoo and posting it here, we could all brainstorm ways to make it Christian.

Military folks get tatted and cuss. They get a special license in my book. Maybe not morally right, no bad cussing around children, but can’t deny them their lot, socially acceptable afaic.

Tattoos are almost always bad because they disfigure the human body. God didn't intend your skin to be a canvas in which you can scribble anything you like, but rather as the outer facade of a temple of the Holy Spirit.
There are some few legitimate uses for tattoos (like covering ugly scars or marking prisioners), but generally speaking it's a terrible idea to have them. There is a reason why tattoos are associated with criminals, prostitutes, mentally ill people, lgbt, effeminate metrosexuals, soyboys and trashy people in general.

Nah, the best option is to remove the tattoo. Religious tattoos are for pagans.

I think it's bad because it shows that you are giving importance to the material and earthly realm (your temporary body) instead of the spritual and with God.

Well, the painting is not exactly a glorification of satanism: there are dead children everywhere, and everyone involved looks ugly, mean and stupid. It shouldn't be hard to interpret the tatoo as a warning against evil, maybe even against your previous life. You may even not need to modify it at all, depending on how it looks.
In any case, ink stays on the body, what matters is your soul.

The way I see it it would be just like taking a former Pagan Temple and converting it into a Christian one. It would be a testament to OP's faith. Showing that in his past he used to be a degenerate, but thanks to the life-saving power of Jesus Christ it transformed them into a much better person. I mean he already has a tattoo it's going to be a pain in to remove it completely. And even if he does go through the process of having it removed it's no guarantee that it will be removed 100%.
In my opinion it would be better to transform it from a pagan tattoo into a Christian tattoo and then just never get tattoos ever again.

Is it exactly like the picture or did your tattoo artist take some creative Liberty when tattooing you?
