>Marriage. I can't.
Not going to try give you some sort of preachy chat on this one. But don't have that attitude to it if possible. Indifference is fine in the fact that you are happy doing whatever God has laid out for you.
>Now I could jump on the hamster wheel of self improvement and work on this, but its going to take awhile.
May as well get started now anon. Your body is the temple to the Holy Spirit, give it a nice renovation and take care of it better. If you take enough effort here your issues in the previous issue may fade away. It will just take time. Be patient. There's no harm in beginning this path of self improvement.
As to your actual questions:
>Am I going to hell if I never marry?
No
>What if the Lord is calling me to remain single?
Then so be it. Be open to whatever the Lord calls for you to do. That is not to say to commit yourself to be single. It is to be receptive to whatever happens in your life, if nobody comes into your life then so be it. If a woman does come into your life, don't shun her because you have already decided God wants you to be single. Unless you have had a pretty impressive revelation that it is the case.
>Or what if Im just inadequate the rest of my life?
Get out of that mentality. Do something about it. That's a Judas mentality, don't be a Judas.
>And are there not bible passages saying singleness is preferable provided you are celibate?
Yes.
>1 Corinthians
8 Now to the unmarried[a] and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do. 9 But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.
