Yes, I do. They are materialist boomers who love money and adopting all the “fashionable” opinions that a typical normie does. They are nauseating and disrespectful of my faith.

Avoiding /= cut all ties. Be there when needed. Be a good child to your parents, until they pressure you to do something that is explicitly anti-Christian. At which point, you move on:

"Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me : and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me." Matt 10:32-37

Honestly, it'd reflect better on us Catholics if we gave sincere advice rather than mocking this poor lad. Even many Catholic saints advise us to not surround ourselves with those who can steer us into sin and blasphemy. For example someone with SSA is called to move on from his same sex friends that regard him sexually and keep tempting his heart.

On the other hand we're also to honor mother and father, though Christ comes first.

Anyhow, it's far better to be Orthodox than any other non-Catholic denom, even if the Orthodox wouldn't say the same about the Catholics.

This thread proves how despicable online Catholics are; thank God I’m Catholic even with these people being so uncharitable and uncomfortable to be around…

OP, like >>816722 wrote, pray for them, maybe talk to them, but don’t stay too close as to be led astray; I suffer from SSA, and recently I had to quit a friendship because of how the sexual tension was getting out of hand between this friend and me. Now I shall go to confession and then pray for him and my heart to be safe from such temptations.

Presuming you mean "may hate," I'd argue the opposite. OP must learn to love (in the agape sense) his parents but as long as he moves out he doesn't have to carry out their every whim.

You are correct. Though there is a difference in between the two terms. Those that call their Affliction "same-sex attraction" understand that what the experience is unnatural and a sin in our willing to overcome their affliction.

Those that use the term "homosexuality" are usually those that accept it as a part of their identity and don't wish to overcome it.

Your parents aren’t likely to have a bad spiritual influence on you. Or do they tempt you with all sorts of sin? I don’t know them, but I can tell you that my mother is in hot water with the way she is behaving now with her sin, but I still associate with her, because she doesn’t ask me to go drinking with her, or gossip with me and talk about bad things, etc.

You should honor your parents to maintain a good relationship with them. Your parents care about you more than anyone else, or so they should. They’ll always be there for you, and you them, so you shouldn’t damage this relationship. You don’t have to spend a lot of time with them, but you shouldn’t just ignore them, either. They probably care for you, and to harm them by hating them is not something that a Christian should do. You can treat them kindly even if you don’t like them.

Also, as a general point, there is a difference between associating with atheists and associating with those who are great sinners. I have an atheist/deist friend who is my probably my first choice to be around, but then again I don’t know many Christian friends, or even friends at all for that matter. But still, I know “Christians” who are less worthy than my atheist friend, and they sin much more than he.

Are you not in a church?

"But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

"For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

"So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God."

If you are saved and claiming to be Christian you should much more be having fellowship with and sharing purpose with those who are of the same belief and practice within a Biblical church body. Certainly it makes little sense to judge an professed atheist as being worthy above those who acknowledge the Son of God and are living lives sanctified in the sight of God. Those who deny God presently have his wrath abiding on them. We should be reaching them with the Gospel to save their souls before it is too late and the house that's burning around them consumes them. We are all found worthy of the penalty of sin, only Christ can save us from this righteous condemnation if we believe him and do not deny his word.

>What’s the purpose of the verses?

First claiming that your means of telling who sins more is fallible, as you are not God, you don't know about that. You're claiming far more than is your right to. You are lifting yourself up as the judge between persons. Know you not that every one of us will give an account to God? Let him that think he stand take heed lest he fall.

my point is simply that you can’t simply box people into Christian and non-Christian categories and only associate with Christians. That isn’t a healthy way to live. It’s their behavior that’s important. Sure, a true Christian is more trustworthy, but who can know who’s really a Christian or not? So either way you’re judging people to discern who you should associate with. And you’re judging them by their actions. You can’t believe people who say they’re Christians, and you can’t just shut yourself off from non-Christians.

The Ten Commandments say to honor your father and mother. These commandments were given to us directly by God. I'd imagine that would hold supreme over your denomination's belief of avoiding atheists. Personally I'd say that since you live in their household, respect their wishes and be kind, but if what they ask of you conflicts with God's word and commandments, don't go along with it. Perhaps consult a pastor or priest for further guidance.
