Fomenko thread Anonymous 02/26/26 (Thu) 22:06:46 No. 85
I am reading The Issue With Chronology. It really is a wonderful book. Such insights and it is beautifully written. You really get a flavour of the man - a careful, thoroughgoing mathematician who cannot help but notice what no one else has.
Strictly speaking Fomenko is not a catastrophist. But it fits well into the catastrophist model. I think it is fair to say that while he might not be a catastrophist many catastrophists follow Fomenko.
There are all sorts of interesting insights that I will mention as time allows but his biggest and best, through his techniques of statistical analysis, is that history stops around the time of 1200AD. He also dates the Crucifixion of Jesus to 1185AD based an number of factors including the horoscopes carved into Egyptian coffins. But for a catastrophist the position of Mars in the sky cannot be assumed at that time so that date cannot be relied upon - note, just over the barrier of 1200AD before which for Fomenko there is no history.
