Odd how the media are enforcing a silence (at this time) as to who the driver is. Victims are all being named....but not the guy who ran the stop sign?

Hired by an East Indian trucking company only in existence for a year, and the driver only in Canada for a month, and driving a tractor trailer for two weeks.

Has all the hallmarks of the Temporary Foreign Workers screw-up program.

There were a rash of truck fatalities in Ontario reported in January, going back a few months. I was shocked to discover that all three drivers - to a man - had South Asian names. I wonder how many noticed...

One major stereotype says that Chinese are bad drivers, but even if that was true at least they don't get into the heavy machinery and cause mass vehicular manslaughter.

We definitely need a new stereotype involving bad Desi drivers driving what are potentially the most dangerous vehicles on the road.
