But seriously, it tastes so bitter that I don't get how people bring themselves to drink it.

I drink huge cups, about half a liter tall. I drink it without milk, but since the cups are so big, the coffee's not too strong.

I like green tea as well, but in the evenings. Tea puts me in a comfy mindset, not good in the morning.

I prefer tea, but I stick to the same rules when enjoying coffee:
>No sugar, a little milk
"Lastly, tea — unless one is drinking it in the Russian style — should be drunk without sugar. I know very well that I am in a minority here. But still, how can you call yourself a true tealover if you destroy the flavour of your tea by putting sugar in it? It would be equally reasonable to put in pepper or salt. Tea is meant to be bitter, just as beer is meant to be bitter. If you sweeten it, you are no longer tasting the tea, you are merely tasting the sugar; you could make a very similar drink by dissolving sugar in plain hot water."

If I'm at home, I make at least 500ml with about 1/8 of milk and sometimes 1 teaspoon of sugar. When grabbing something on the go, it's either cappuccino with 1 teaspoon of sugar or just plain americano. If I'm in hurry, I use more sugar to get my caffeine faster and keep on going (though for that purpose I'd use a can of Red Bull instead if it's available).
I know you're gonna hate me for that manner of coffee drinking.

Fun fact, lactose intolerance is natural. A genetic mutation found in less people than you think is required to digest cows milk. Lots of people are lactose intolerant without realizing it.

Light roasted African beans. A light roast makes it taste less bitter, and brings out way more flavor. Anyone who instinctively puts flavoring in their coffee probably hasn't had a good light roast. I like the flavor of African beans, it's way more unique than the shit from Brazil.
Method is usually pour-over, but a drip machine is fine, too. I've never tasted a difference with a french press (maybe I haven't had a good one), and a moka pot always tastes like shitty espresso.
I always make some in the morning, and many days I'll have some at night.
On rare occasions I will put some Irish cream in there.

>it tastes so bitter
Only extra dark roasts taste super bitter. Terrible businesses like Starbucks literally burn their beans, so their plain coffee tastes like shit. This is probably to make people pay extra for a more elaborate latte with loads of milk/sugar.
A good medium/light roast will be on the sweeter side of bitter (if that makes any sense).

Tea is very pleasant. I learned to like coffee with a sense of humor about it. There is a pleasantness derived from the bitter taste. I liked the discomfort at first, but then I just ended up liking the flavor. Big plus if you drink so much you get all finicky.

Actually, while that may be a side effect they enjoy, it's because the beans will keep their flavor longer. Furthermore, not sure where this idea of "burnt" comes from. I know what people mean, but all roasted beans are burnt. That's what the roasting process is. However, Starbucks does roast there's longer than they should.

Nope as white as sour cream. Btw I'm not lactose intolerant.
Just realized I never said how I like mine
I received a nuspresso machine for free, and it's a nice luxury especially in the mornings. Not grade-a espresso and the good pods get expensive, but first thing in the morning I'll pour a shot into my cup of drip. In the evenings I enjoy a nice French-press. Homemade cold-brew is also a regular in my house. I must admit I do use the kurig when I'm rushed in the mornings. The store bought pods are better than most drive-thru espresso stands, probably on par with Starbucks, and my reusable stainless-steel pod tastes exactly like your average drip.
When I'm in a coffee shop espresso is about all I get, maybe a pour over or a vanilla latte if it seems like the Bartista knows what she's doing (some places even use real vanilla!)
I'm a big fan of Colombian beans, medium roast. Light roasts are only nice when I need the caffeine, hate the taste, and dark roasts are an abomination. I think after I finish my current Colombian I'm on I'll tour African coffees, as other than Sumatran I haven't tried many. A cup of coffee, maybe a sweet pastry, a nice movie or book, and a comfortable chair is top-tier comfy for me. I enjoy usually three cups a day, in the morning, midday, and in the late afternoon/ early evening.

I haven't drinked anything lately that's not a cup of medium-roasted arabica with boiling water. It's pretty good. No sugar or dairy, because sugar is gay and if I feel like I need milk then I will just drink it properly.
Gotta find myself something more bitter, though. I wonder if there are blends/beans that are more bitter than a big dose of indian black tea? I'd drink that shit every few hours.

Black coffee purist anon here. I have to disagree with you faggots tho.
Coffee can be good with milk and sugar. Sure, it will ruin any palatable basic brew, but lattes and the like can be good. In addition, "cold foam" (not that Starbucks shit) are always good. There's an Italian technique of pouring cream over an ice cold spoon that causes some cool effects. Milk and milk-products have a long history in coffee, and steaming milk opens up a world of opportunities.
Sugar, or any sweet additive, can also make a great drink when used properly. I've taken to taking shots of espresso over a spoonful of sugar. It carmalizes the sugar and is quite good. Honey, maple syrup, etc all have different uses, too.

2. 100% milk (w/ instant coffee), lots of sugar, sizeable mug, drink in the morning and with my afternoon snack
