Welcome to the Future!
Humanity has spread beyond its home to its closest neighbor: The Moon. While this has brought prosperity to the Earth in the form of cheap metals, Helium 3, and a place for countries to compete rather than the battlefield, it's all about to be for nothing.
An unforeseen group of asteroids just obliterated everything on Earth's surface and in orbit, leaving the Lunar Colonies as the only survivors.
…Good luck with that!

>Colony Name: Weltraumschutzbehörde
>Fluff:
In the year (Arbitrary Future Year 2XXX) the Weltraumschutzbehörde estimated the chance of an asteroid impact strong enough to wipe out life on earth at 0.004% for the next thirty years. While one may claim that the probability of this event is far too small to ever actually happen Murphy's law illustrated what mankind would loose if it were to eventually happen.
Of course neither the United Nations would do nothing about it. It was nothing but a mask at the time and it had never been much more. The United States was far too indebted, the Chinese and Indians locked in their strife about some Chinese islands in the Indian ocean. Somebody had to act and this somebody was the German government.
In a move which many considered to be a waste of money large constructions on the moon were undertaken in order to create a shield that would protect earth and the moon from the eventuality of an asteroid collision. Sadly the effort was not finished by the time asteroids struck earth and wiped it clean.
Many questioned how this could happen. For asteroids to be undetected for so long, but even until the time of impact was merely unthinkable. Especially when one considered that at least the heads of state would have had to survive in their respective bunkers. However no messages could be received.
Merely two hours before the impact the German Minister of Interior Affairs had arrived with nothing but a suit, bringing along his briefcase and ridiculously fluffy cat. Some called it a miracle, others a conspiracy. Of course it was true that he knew things they did not, but they were not about what appeared to be an asteroid strike.
He knew the true purpose the station had been built for.

Someone. . .turn off that Red Alert. . .
Won't do any good. We all saw what happened. The earth, gone. . .just like that. It's all gone. Everything. Just us and our other lunar neighbors.
Get everyone out of the bunkers, save that supply for a real emergency.
Alright gentlmen, this is Arcadia. We have plans for every type of disaster, perhaps not this one, but we can modify existing ones to suit our new needs.
We've lost our supplies on earth, we'll need to enact contingencies to find replacements.
1. Begin the emergency land redistribution protocols. Pools and recreational water parks are to be closed until further notice, lakes and ponds are to be redistributed to the agricultural sectors.
Golf-Parks, picnic areas, and other open ground are to be zoned for agricultural expansion as per emergency protocols in the event of complete Earth isolation. We designed this place to not only be fully self-sufficient but provide an excess of Food in the event one is needed for a military expeditionary force or emergency aid back to earth.
Not that that we will ever need to mount one.
2. Our ability to replenish, restock, and expand our automated robotics forces as well as revitalizing a new industry will be hampered without additional metal supplies.
We planned this area to be near lunar metallic sources and capable of producing an excess number of bots in the event we ever needed to mobilize and perform military interventions on volatile places and industries on earth. There should be sources of metals nearby, now we'll need to enact protocols to find them and plan for new mining operations.
Have our Robots go forth and locate them. We're lucky we have some organizational talent and executives for various mining industries able to assist.

>Colony Name: Arcadia
>Fluff: Funded by the wealthy elite of the world and several Megacorps as a "City of the Future," Arcadia was designed with all the luxuries of life for the well to-do businessman and his family, and as a centerpiece for the latest scientific technology money could buy.
A self-automated robotic workforce of servants and guards. Advanced auto-docs capable of molecularity rearranging the body structure to cure disease, extreme trauma, even cancers. Advanced solar power running everything from artificial gravity, to water and atmosphere manufacturing, and all the electronics of life.
Paradise in the sky.
As with all things however, they did plan for emergencies as well. Contingency plans for every conceivable catastrohy ranging from self-sustaining bunkers and tunnels with its own air and food supply in the event of colony atmospheric failure, and even a plans for the hypothetical need to mobilize the robot forces and subdue any renegade powers or workers on earth should they ever strike.
Earth beyond destroyed however was admittedly. . .not one of these.
Now lacking the huge manufacturing and resources of Earth, Arcadia finds itself truly alone. No more factories on the ground to make new bots, no more shipments of steel and bulk resources.
Now it's up to these colonists to hold Paradise in their hands. As the earth is cursed for their sake.

1. Ah, capitalism. The true basis of all human endeavors.
Competitive drives industry, so let's incentivize it!
Now that we have our mines, we can make some basic robots as well as other technologies.
Enact government incentive programs that will encourage productivity among our individual farming sectors. Whichever group shows the most ability to produce the greatest amount of safe and edible food, at the least cost, will gain numerous economic privileges and bonuses such as additional funding, and robotic support. We're looking for seamless integration of traditional farming as well as hydroponics techniques.
Since we have Anorthite we also have the ability to readily produce a steady flow of CO2, which not only will help to feed our plants but result in growing levels of oxygen which we can harvest and store for emergency uses or perhaps colony expansion.
2. Let's get our Audo-doc home hospital systems running, I believe they were shut down for the red alert (for what reason is beyond me). While being able to stop skin cancer from sunbathing on the moon is nice, being able to stop more serious tumors from the harmful radiations of space or save individuals on the verge of death and restructure body tissue on a molecular level is much more valuable.

Colony Name: Moon-COM, Fort Aldrin
Fluff: The COM organization has had bases on every major continent and put 10,000 of their most suitable agents and their families onto the Moon. Adept at dealing with problems ranging from the shenanigans of an overworked scientist unleashing his cyber-disc and mutant gorilla armies to intercepting illegal craft trying to enter Earth's airspace and sported a vast range of weapons and facilities. Sadly we have lost all contact with those facilities as our current communication system cannot pierce the veil of storm enveloping the earth after those rain of asteroids which could last a very long time. An expedition to the surface of the Earth could be the only way we can check on the underground facilities and learn how long we have to wait before we can reclaim our legacy. First we must organize Fort Alrin

>BIG Anorthite mine 5/8
>Buzz Root Farm and Refinery 1/7
1 Buzz Root Farm and Refinery. The hardy root which requires little material to protect it and little water to grow it will along with the refinery to make root beer out of it I believe we can provide for the nutritional needs of the colony and desire for a fermented beverage.
2 Big Anorthite mine. Open up this vein so we can get to working on other facilities

>Colony Name: Catheda
>>Fluff: The colony organized and sent by the holy vatican itself.
>>Our Forefathers in the vatican were right in every way to send a mission to the moon. Others called it wasteful of church money some called it barely hidden greed. These heretics all perished when the punishment of god came upon them. Now all that is left is the few other colonies here. They shall learn the truth. They shall worship and kneel at the alter of god giving obeisance in word and coin, or if they refuse to come willingly they will lay before the altar after working the mines paying homage only with their blood and sweat.

1.Search out resources preferably . For the Lord shall provide, seeketh and ye shall find. So says the Lord amen. We will need the finest of metals perfect for focusing and holding the glory of the Lord in all its lightness.
2.Along with one durable and resistant to said glory lest we be u defended against the non believers.

>Colony Name: Eisenhimmel
>Fluff: A Mining facility set up on the moon when the Third Reich was at the height of it's power, Eisenhimmel was making regular shipments of metals back down to earth, when the war was over and the Reich lost, the moonbase went dark, preserving their resources and continuing their mining operation to build up in preparation for when they would strike and bring back the Reich. Instead the earth was devastated and the moon got quite a bit more crowded, now the goal for Eisenhimmel is to conquer the others on the moon and turn the moon into the Fourth Reich, all shall be brought to heel beneath the Iron Sky.

2. Work on power plants of some kind, we require more power if we are to truly build a fighting force strong enough to wipe out all those who oppose us.

1. With food mostly taken care of it is time to turn to similar but no less important matters. Our water supplies are steady for now, but not much more then that. We need to better preserve what water we have so a better way to recycle waste water and scrub water from the air needs to be found.
2. With the most important building now constructed in our commune it is time to focus on lesser concerns such as food and water. Begin building a hydroponics bay where we will grow food.
For the rabbits and chickens. Obviously we all eat meat.
>Colony Name: Church of the Moon Mother
>Fluff: Funded purely out of kickstarter money the Church of the Moon Mother worshiped the moon as a primordial goddess, and wished nothing more to live on her surface. Once there they settled into a life like most others, mining the resources from the surface.
Of course being a crazy cult they practiced mad science on themselves, trying to bring them closer to the ideal form they believed the Moon Mother wished for them. You know, werewolves. Having limited success due to combination of factors, such as lack of scientific knowledge, the constraints of living on the moon and not actually having any wolves around to base their attempts on they nevertheless have begun their journey into being true sons and daughters of the Moon Mother!

>Diverse Farming Sector 5/8
2. Titanium eh? Well certainly that could be used for a great many things. Perhaps even more was to be discovered below the moon's rocky surface.

>Colony Name: Shamayim
>Fluff: Using money gained from "several" "business" "ventures", the "organization" that formed Shamayim theorized that setting up a colony on the moon would advert the catastrophe written in the Dead Sea Scrolls, and also help cement their control. Their bet payed off and now they move to "acquire" more funds and labor for a "respectable" and "better" future!

1; Continue gathering knowledge to better deal with future go- partners.
2; Previous reports showed high probable amounts of aluminum and iron within the Moons crust. Begin excavation and construction of mines for needed metals
