The year is early 2013, as the Brain Scorcher within the Zone of Alienation, bordering within Ukraine and nearby Belarus, has been deactivated by a STALKER named 'Marked One'. STALKERs, Dutiers, Freedomers, looters, and bandits alike have flocked towards the center of the zone, in hopes of a treasure trove of artifacts, or for the legendary wish granter. Whether you decide to adventure deeper within the lands of The Zone, or stay, only you can choose. Or perhaps you'd like to start your own band of STALKERs, or possibly a faction?

1. I do my best to charm the man into lowering the price of the Fort 12. Then buy 4 bandages if I can get him lower then 700. I'll buy 2 if I can't.

Name: Jill

Age: 26

Appearance: Dusky, slender and lean. Dark hairs and dark eyes. Romanian. Used to play up the whole mysterious gypsy schtich. Now doesn't bother.

Gender: Female

>Skills: [Theif] Your experience with swindling money from poor suckers might just come into use in the zone. +5 to rolls that involve stealing from somebody and/or their money.

Fluff: Jack and Jill were perhaps the most famous gypsy duo who wandered around Russia. They didn't shun the Gypsy stereotypes, they outright embraced them. Conning and thievery, fortune tellers and mysterious lovers. They indulged in it all. They made a great deal of cash… and then Jack died. A stupid accident down some stairs and a broken neck.

Jill wandered around aimlessly for a while, no longer feeling the spice of her previous life…. and wandered into the Zone.

>Luckily, you manage to lower the price of the gun to six-hundred rubles, with charm from your motherland. You shell out two one hundred ruble bills towards the man, and as he grabs the money and counts it up. Soon after, he grabs four bandages, and offers it to you, as he sits back down and continues to look at you.

Go see if the Rookie wants to continue to show me how to be a successful Stalker… and head out to scavenge once more. I shall use the Fort-12 as my main gun and the Makarov as a backup for now.

>The trader doesnt respond as you thank him and leave. You walk over towards the rookie, asking him if he wants to go out and scavenge again. He would be sitting down in-front of a campfire, watching the flames. He gazes towards you, replying with "Nah, maybe later." He then averts his vision back towards the blaze, watching the campfire silently.

>You randomly pick a direction, and begin your adventure. As you wander down the road infront of you, there would be a broken down bridge, with military members occupating the area. To the far left of you, would be a large abandoned hotel, with most of the building being heavily rusted. To the right of you, would be a car park, inhabited by men in black trenchcoats and men in black hoodies and blue adidas pants. To the bottom right of you would be the school, with a pack of boars patrolling the building. To the top right would then be a tunnel, possibly leading underground. In some areas would be mutants roaming around and hunting for food. Boars, dogs, and cats would be seen exploring, almost like you.

Name: Ivan Vishinski

Age: 27

Appearance: Tall, physically fit. Short dark hair, odd-eyed (blue-green). Slightly rounded face.

Gender: Male

Skills: [Tricky] +10 when trying to convince people to enter dangerous areas, or search for artifacts.

Gear: [Makarov] 3x[Makarov Magazine] [9x18mm Box of Ammo] [Sausage On a Stick] [650 Rubles] [Photograph]

Fluff: Ivan's father was a Ukrainian factory worker in Kiev. His mother was a baker's apprentice. Back in '86 when Chernobyl's fourth reactor went supercritical, Sergei Vishinski fled with his pregnant wife to Romania, hoping to avoid the radiation issuing from the Zone. As it turned out, the move was unnecessary, as Kiev was not very affected by the incident. In any event, Ivan enlisted in the Romanian Army when he turned 17 and was moved to Kosovo to work as a sniper with KFOR. He helped keep the peace there for a while, but moved back home when he no longer needed to serve. Taking orders wasn't for him. On the bus home, he heard about the Zone and all of the crap people left behind there. As soon as the bus stopped in Kiev, Ivan hitched a ride in the covered back of a pick up truck taking supplies to soldiers in the zone. The driver was happy to take Ivan and his few possessions into the zone. Now that he's here, Ivan plans on making his fortune any way he can, though it would be preferable for other people to do the work for him. It's easier to take an artifact from a dead man than it is to take one from a mutant infested cave.

Sorry about the late reply. It's a bit of a non-standard game you've got going here. It's nice. A bit of 4chan promptness and a bit of the 8chan permanence.

1. I'll lie in wait for the two. I don't want to get shot and I want to be able to get a better read on them and their intentions. The nearest hole in the ground should work, along with any wall tall enough to hide me. Once they're nearby, I'll listen to their conversation. If they seem friendly or friendly enough, I'll reveal myself carefully and diplomatically. I might do one of two things if they seem unfriendly. I could attack from behind when they're not aware, or I could lie low if they seem like too much of a challenge.

>You rush over to the nearest hole, and jump in. The hole would be shallow, as if it was just dug up a week ago. As you inspect the two walking, they would appear to be walking away from the hotel. Chatting, and telling stories. One of them would pull out some sort of hand-held device, and type in it, and then slide it back away, bringing out his rifle. In the distance, another group is heading over towards the hotel. They would appear to only have sidearms and anoraks.

>You decide the best area to scavenge is the hotel. You ready up, and take to the building. The outer coating of the building would be corroded with rust, and foliage. A bit of a distance from you would be a hole, a shallow one. It doesnt appear to have people in the hole. At-least, in first glance. There would be a sign in the entrance of the hotel, with most of the letters having rusted completely. Some of the letters are implanted on the ground, with signs that it fell awhile ago. Through the shattered windows of the building, you could see a pool, and several chairs. In the middle of the pool, the air would look distorted, as if it was like heat in the summer.

Well. They haven't killed each other, nor have they found me yet. I should rally start making friends in the zone or I'm going nowhere. I'll peek my head out from the ditch. "Hello, fellow S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s. How is this fine day treating you?"

My Makarov will be hidden from view, but at the ready. Safety is, of course, off. Finger resting on the trigger guard, I'll be ready if anything goes south.

1. It's trench time again. I don't need a sniper taking my head off on my first day in the Zone. Once I'm safely in cover, whether that means a ditch, a building, a wall, or simply a tree, I'll see if I can use something reflective in my pack to scout out the sniper's position.
