At the peak of the economic empire, the Osiris Conglomerate was the leading Mega-corporation in DCS space and beyond. A veritable trove of capitalistic might backed by the largest names in the galactic industrial complex, Osiris has seen a dramatic change in leadership, now led by the immortalized Klaus Vanger, a Earth-born Human, a member of the family behind the Vanger Institute. By his 17th birthday, he had already begun amassing wealth and power to rival a small nation, and by the time he was tapped to step up to the Osiris Board of Directors, his net worth was well over the total GDP of the entire Outer Rim combined. However in a shocking move that has boggled the minds of legislatures and corporate analysts the galaxy over, Klaus successfully lead a motion that dissolved the Osiris Conglomerate, giving each of its member corporations full autonomy and independence. It was in this event that your rise to power began. Where previously the Osiris Conglomerate regulated inter-corporate competition, nearly every industry has begun a brutal power struggle to achieve market dominance. Will you rise to power as an unstoppable juggernaut of industry, a spotless face of PR glory, or the symbol of modern Greed? Or will your company become a footnote in the acquisitions ledger of your foes. Only you and your ingenuity, strategy, and foresight stands between you, your company, your employees, and financial ruin.

This is set in the Solaris Universe, however it's not required to be familiar with it to play. For those that do know the lore, this is Pre-Enemy Invasion, by 150 Years. The DCS, or the Democratic Council of Species, is at its peak, and is embroiled in conflict with the Slathi Empire in the Astral Sea, the starfield to the "south" of the Core Worlds. While Corporate power holds weight in the Core Worlds, nigh autonomy can be achieved by Corporations in the Outer Rim, where much of the actual corporate R&D occurs, free from prying eyes.
Rolls are checked against your stats + an event modifier based on the action. 3d100 per turn.
Unlike Solaris, there is no resource management, however Capital and Connections determine how effective you are at acquiring and moving goods.
Credit income also determines how much money you can invest in R&D projects, as research, manufacturing and similar actions may have an associated quarterly cost.
The Objective of this game is to either aquire, bankrupt, or defame your opponents in your field of industry, or similar fields, and achieve uncontested Monopoly. This can be achieved by mergers as well.

+ Logistics & Supply
Fluff:
Formed from all sections ranging from twenty to twenty nine the Sections 21 to 29 were formerly a variety of different sections spanning from medical research over farming and transportation to humanetarian efforts. Nowadays the newly formed Section Twenty-One focuses on the latter. Nowadays Section Twenty-Seven largely relies on selling food to the always hungry masses and rapidly increasing populations always inventing new medicine to combat the next super flu. The ten different Sections bound together are less focused on maximizing profit rather than granting stability to an otherwise dangerously fragile social construct.

Fluff: Claudere Spatium is an Earth-based corporation, formed by Theofanis Vangelis rather recently on Earth itself. Invoking ancient human tradition of warfare in many of their lines, Spatium's rise was stunningly quick, genius innovations and aggressive strategy causing rollovers of many of the group's competitors. Though founded as merely a weapons development and manufacturing group, Spatium has branched out into almost any field that touches the bleeding edge of weapons and arms, and then some. Protecting an image of home-grown tradition and honest warfare, Spatium is ruthless, harshly-organized and absolutely determined to come out on top, whatever the cost might be, and they've got the firepower to back it up.

Corporation Name: Monarch innovations.
Industry: Orbital Manufacturing (Focus on Military), Exploration & Colonization, Archaeology
Fluff: Founded by the Government shortly after the start of the conflict between the Slathi Empire and the DCS, Monarch Innovations was simply a Think Tank working on military ship designs before they were a Corporation. Don't get me wrong, the work was relatively simple for the many scientists involved but it was becoming harder to work there. The simple problem was that funds were spread thin all over the DCS and it was becoming much more difficult to attain them even with their Innovations.
It got to the point where one of their core engineers was nearly killed by a lack of very expensive safety equipment. Finally, things came to ahead when one of their rival teams scored a major invention and they were cut from the program all-together. It was the leader of their former think tank that gathered them together once more after making a deal with the Renraku Mega-Corporation. They were running ideas. They had ideas. The entire team was contracted by them to work on a project in the Aeronautics field. They succeeded big-time.
They won many awards and outsourced much of their work. When the time came, they pooled their funds together to buy out the leading shareholders of the Renraku Corporation and spread it amongst themselves. A name-change followed along with a bout of rapid expansion as they secured contract after contract in the aerospace field. Now, they are poised to strike out in what they assume is a untouched field.

Corporation Name: Vorpal Industries
Industry: Medicine & Pharmaceuticals, Cybernetics, Consumer Goods
Fluff: Founded as the consumer cybernetics arm of Osiris, Subsidiary Manager Edmund Verchessi took control of the fledgling company following Osiris' dismantling. For many decades, the subsidiary had specialized in cybernetic prosthetics and cyberware for professionals, military, and the common (but wealthy) citizen. It also worked in traditional augmentation, namely pills and medicines to both bolster health and improve performance.
Despite their focus on Cybernetics, one of their greatest achievements was early in their independence - Adimant, the wonder weight-loss drug. Unlike previous iterations, this one actually worked as well as it claimed. A single pill once a day for a week, and the user could drop up to 15 pounds in pure fat!
Vorpal, taking its name from the purportedly indestructible nature of its cybernetics, also functioned in mundane consumer goods, usually phones, commlinks, and other simple cyber-gear. These days, Vorpal Industries is still the premier cybernetic producer in most systems, and has been long seeking an official military contract for years. One thing is certain, all names aside, "legendary" doesn't fail to describe them.

Since then, he's used intimidation, guile, bribery, and any other means at his disposal to ensure that his projects are not opposed. Entire planets have had their resources drained by Osiris when he was in charge of them, with forests being clear cut, houses being bulldozed, and ores wrested from the ground. He doesn't plan on that changing with Colatitude. When Osiris was in power, taller and taller buildings became a reality, orbital installations for research; military; and domestic purposes were constructed in the millions, and entire cities were constructed in a day. He doesn't plan on any of that changing now that he has complete control.

Corporation Name: Aduro Industries.
Industry:
Energy Manufacturing
Consumer Goods
Military Manufacturing & R&D
Fluff:
Aduro Industries started as ‘Mr. Light’. A small family run business that sold recycled light bulbs in to a rural mining town. Few would suspect such tiny, insignificant company would become the giant of energy.
Lenny Carlson, had been passed the (somewhat failing) business down from his father. One fateful day, he had been heading home during a storm when fate decreed, he was struck by a bolt of lightning. When he recovered, he seemed strange, quiet, withdrawn, as if something changed him. To any questions his only response was “I have seen the light” . Thereby, he would go to junk yards and scavenge parts and pieces from scrapyards and purchase army surplus and retreated to his basement. Over a week later, he emerged with a strange ball of light in his hands. Upon which, he stepped outside onto the road and was immediately struck by a passing semi-truck. Horrified onlookers were suddenly silenced, as out of the wreckage walked a perfectly fine and safe Lenny Carlson, not so much as the smell of gasoline on him. Just the ball in his hands.
He then mentioned “having to speak to someone”. None know who he spoke to or what about, but it is commonly accepted he took several blueprints and designs to a government agency and appealed to them. On that day, Lenny Carlson sold his design for the world's first hand-held shield. After then, funding poured its way through to the company like the famed bolt of inspiration that seemingly struck Carlson long ago.
Aduro Industries was born, and Lenny Carlson took up the name "Mr. Light" after his old company. His inventions would light up the world. Like a modern tesla or edison, he awed the world with his mastery of all things energetic. Safe and applicable wireless energy, batteries that could be installed in devices that would draw their power from central generators and never need to be recharged again, to gigantic models that could help charge up spaceships without cables or huge fuel transfers. Emitters that could project solid walls of magnetic energy that could be manipulated, to draw the heat out of fires, pop up to divert flash floods or prop up building supports that would fail, or protect from deadly radiation.
Then, yet one more fateful day, the third in his life, the bolt would strike again. While researching on a government project, seemingly some kind of teleporter or perhaps a dimensional device, Mr. Light was sucked in either by his own hubris or perhaps even, willful intent, into a vortex of unstable energy. Where he went, what truly happened to him, only he knows. All that is known that he did not die that day, and did return. And not only returned, but changed yet again.
"I have seen the light before, but now I have reached and grasped it. My consciousness, the energy traveling through the synapses of my brain, freed of it's physical cage of flesh and left to explore a realm of pure energy, where every second is a universal lifetime, thought traveling at speeds of light. There, I have learned, all life is energy."
From then on. Mr. Light sought not only to light up the world, but the hearts of mankind as well, to inspire them to "reach out for that light" he always saw. A philanthropist and altruist at heart, to that end, he often made great strides in the fields of PR and public works programs. He sought to make a lasting name, something to be remembered by beyond the inventions and the weapons he disliked creating for governments.
To that end, he found a small habitable moon on a remote planet, and got to work on his crown jewel. It would be a park and expo at once, a place where the crowning achievements of the latest science could be seen, the brightest minds could display and discuss their works, and the hearts of millions of men women and children could be filled with the warm light of the future. A place of "innovation, inspiration, imagination." Upon it's completion, this city of light and wonder, "Carlson World" would be his pride and joy. A symbol of a better, shining tomorrow he sought to bring to people today.

2. Our military contracts are in question now that we've lost the support of Osiris. However a new line of terror-inducing combat units should be just the thing needed to assure them we are not going to falter. I'm thinking…. spiders for this one. Maybe instead of 8 legs however they are actually hands. Long and slender and pointy.
Corporation Name: Monster Incorporated
Industries : Entertainment, Robotics, Military Manufacturing & R&D

1. Alright. First thing's first. We get those R&D people on developing a new handheld entertainment system for dispersal in the colonies– the old Cyboy Advance just isn't going to cut it, and we need something fresh to hit the market with.
2. Now, we also work on building up our public relations. We've taken a few hits in that regard thanks to factory malfunctions, but it's nothing that isn't salvagable.

Corporation Name: Claudere Spatium
Industry: Military Manufacturing & R&D, Computing (Military-Grade, AI work, Robotics), Cybernetics/Bionics, Private Military contracts

We've got some serious concerns in a lot of fields here. A heavy hit by rival groups just destroyed most of our outreaching security assets, and ruined our capital and market share. We need to hop that up, RIGHT now.
1. Start rebuilding our capital. We need to expand and refine our lines, push competitors out of the way, expand our territory, and start making some good damn use of that household name of ours. I expect all-new products ten times better than what we had before, by next week. Our capital should be through the roof.
2. Next most important - our market share. Push those other fucks out. This market belongs to Claudere Spatium, and I'll be dammed if anyone tells me we have a mere 20% of what we've earned. Do whatever it takes, but ensure that that share goes up. Far up.
3. Begin reforming and recruiting our security, upping our protocols, recovering from the blow we were dealt, re-forging the impressive and massive private armies we had not months ago. I want enhanced, top-grade soldiers ready to roll out in two weeks. Get to it. I'm not much for waiting.

1. Tell the boys down in R&D to begin making the sets of equipment for a new armor type. First off begin with a tri-lace cybernetic neural network built into whats going to be the underlayer, a crystal lattice power network, and a built in sonar implant.
2. Have logistics find a suitable asteroid field or planet with exotic very lightweight yet surprisingly durable metals. We will need them for the armor plates.

1. "The future of everything lies in holograms," this was the memo Mr. Light gave us in the R&D department today.
Holographic entertainment, utility devices, weapons systems and defense mechanisms. Using manipulated energy to suit the needs of mankind.
Mr. Light see's a future where energy is harnessed to solve all of mankind's problems, so let us get started on the holographic technology eh?
We will develop our primary pattent, our unique and special brand, the Aduro Holographic Device or AHD. In the future, one device should be capable of providing a single room with all its necessary needs, but for now I believe his first immediate goal would be a device which can project light fixtures to replace the old lighting system.
Imagine, a Lightbulb that not only never goes out, that can replace night lights, reading lamps, and more, but can also emulate any desired frequency? Solar light, moonlight, the colors of the rainbow, that sort of thing.
We're all getting bonuses if we can make it so a child has to flip a switch and his room literally appears as the night sky or if we can accurately depict a bright sunny day in the middle of night, all the green grass and trees and rivers whatnot. Give some spice to that old way of just plain old light!
Of course it will have to be small and convenient enough for the average person to place somewhere in his own room, and run on wireless energy.
So let's get to work gentlemen, and welcome to Aduro Industries."
2. >Use our connections to find suitable talent and intellectuals.
"Well, not us per say. . .Mr. Light likes to take matters into his own glowing hands. It's why we have such good connections, he's a very personal guy, even when there are telecom's and live feed communications he prefers to meet you face to face. Makes sense since all he has to do is rub those electromagnetic hands of his and have his energy streams beam him to anywhere on the planet.
You all know by now how he personally hand picks his employees. I'm sure all of you remember seeing that glowing man appear on your doorstep and asking to have a nice chat and talk about your day, your life, that sort of thing. I suppose it's lucky that theme park of his is so popular, especially with the kids. You wouldn't believe how many times I've been asked by my nephews and nieces if they could see Might Light or get a free pass to Carlson World.
I wonder if those rumors are true you know? That he visits multiple people or places at the same time? Like, he could be projecting himself working on a new reactor while having a pleasant talk with a new recruit? Maybe that's how he keeps such good connections.
He seems to have a knack for finding people with an understanding of energy technologies and electronics in general. Or maybe it's just natural for him to know when someone is lying."
